Last finishing stage.. I'll probably do some proportion checks next time just to be sure
Finished! - proportions fixed, overall sharpened, etc.

Next up will be weapon design (roll) and "Month of Character Designs" for next month.. will explain more in depth when the time comes :)
Some longsword thumbnails..
Dark Priest character design - just a quick one.. trying out a new symmetrical mirror painting technique!
Where I found out about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0dc16EUHAQ

Also a few weapon design thumbnails..
Reevaluating my knowledge of female body proportions and their simplifications..
the first page is from nothing and the second is with reference
Another page of 60s poses
60s poses (I'm really starting to enjoy doing these)

Also I won't be here for the rest of the week.. will be on a plein air painting event. And will post once I'm back of course :)
Back with some female poses from imagination..

Also the time has come for me to finally begin the promised challenge! I will explain what I'll be focusing on this whole entire month in the next post.
The month of June is here.. and that means it's time for me to take on the "Month of Character Designs" challenge!

Basically I will be doing one full character for every day of the month (except for the weekends when I'm away from my PC)

I will be picking character roles from this list that I put together:

With the use of a random number generator:

So feel free to stick around! :)

An intriguing challenge mate! This must really exercise your powers of imagination. I like the flames on the elementalist.

One thing though - be careful with your proportions on the Elementalist - her head and shoulders seem a little smaller in scale than the rest of her - unless that was a conscious design choice?

Keep up the good work anyway dude!

Thank you!

It was partially conscious (I enjoy elongating certain body parts) ..however I do agree the head count is probably a tad bit too high..
I'll keep that in mind next time!

Pretty nice work you got going on here! Designs looking good, liking how you're playing on the archetypes while still adding your own flair (the candlewax on the Shrine Maiden was especially clever). Don't really have any critique for the designs, just keep it up! Not sure if you intended this for effect, but I'd watch the proportions of your imaginative figures. Some seem as if their head is a touch too large for the body.

Thank you Pax! The head size is indeed intentional (more anime-like proportions seem to be more appealing to me for some reason).. but it would probably be a smart thing to practice realistic proportions more often.. thanks for noticing!
