I like your style.

I offer you this: I think that some study in internal organs would help you with gory parts like that sectioned fish, tentacles and eyes. While not most pleasant subject for study i believe it would be helpful for things you have posted so far. As vet i had my hands in the guts of most animals. There is no need to eviscerate neighbors pet though. There is enough of good reference pictures on the net i believe.
