RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-08-2014 I laughed from the happy expression of the grandpa. I had to try and paint this! original: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/123286108523797590/ RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-08-2014 Another one, requested by my mom... don't ask. haha Original: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dRdQXrxlurk/TdKUfvIHMuI/AAAAAAAAAzE/-HOVfnnYE-8/s1600/1989_1.jpg RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-10-2014 Another one! RE: Paca's Workout - Samszym - 07-11-2014 Nice studies dude! Might want to play around with using the lasso tool to get a few really hard edges in there. Keep up the good work! RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-11-2014 THanks man! Edges are still a problem for me. I need to work several hours on a painting to get nice hard edges! I'm not sure how to use the lasso tool to get that kind of effect! And here goes de Dragon Muthafucking zord! RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-11-2014 Dragon Muthafucking Zord 2! It's a still life study, by the way! RE: Paca's Workout - Cyprinus - 07-11-2014 Hey Paca, nice updates! Really dig the still life study of Zord. The rendering is great and I like the looser brushstrokes in the background, contrasts nice with the subject (: About the edges, here are some links Lyraina shared with me once, if you like to read a bit into the topic (not sure if you already have): http://stapletonkearns.blogspot.com.br/2009/04/about-edges.html http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php/51913-Rendering-Discussion-quot-Edges-quot-Tips-and-Tricks http://danielmaidman.blogspot.de/2012/02/edges-and-edge-detection-part-4-genius.html About the lasso tool, I haven't used it that much for my paintings yet, but basically it helps you to come up with shapes with nice, crisp edges very quickly. I know for example that sometimes artists lay out basic shapes with the lasso tool, then they go on refining those shapes with gradients, trough painting, with textures, softening out some of the edges - I think there are a lot of ways to work with it. Unfortunately I don't have a good tutorial or vid about this bookmarked. I did a quick search on the topic but I didn't really come up with something helpful, here's a video though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox4AEhm_ZTI I think it's maybe not the best example but it might give you a little idea about it. Keep up the great work! (: RE: Paca's Workout - rafa zanchetin - 07-11-2014 Well done! Really like this last one, and don't be ashamed to "cheat" and use the ellipse tool. You need to use everything you can to make it stand out, think of using lasso, lines, ellipse in photoshop as using rulers, french curves, etc. Keep it up. RE: Paca's Workout - ShinOkami - 07-12-2014 Hey man, really nice studies going on here, i agree with people above me, make a use of that lasso tool, makes life easier :) Keep it up ! RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-15-2014 I tried to paint this previous drawing from imagination, but I'm not sure if it's worth to finish it. haha RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-18-2014 Trying to set up a mood for a little project. RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-22-2014 Working more on the background. Painting without reference is really hard! RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-30-2014 It's been a while! Here's the rest of the background. It's really hard to make the painting look like it's finished. haha RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 07-31-2014 Worker class hero RE: Paca's Workout - artleech - 08-01-2014 (07-30-2014, 01:39 PM)PacaTatuCotiaNao Wrote: It's been a while! I'm not an expert on the matter but as a game consumer I think I would add some others "urban elements" (ie. like trash cans or lamp posts), grungy textures maybe and the shadow of the dudes XD. Looks like a very exciting project! bye! RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 08-07-2014 Here I go again! I'm really frustrated. Really can't get proportions right, and I can't draw faces. I can fix them in photoshop by selecting, moving and resizing, but I guess that would be cheating! RE: Paca's Workout - rafa zanchetin - 08-07-2014 Hey man, nice update, I like it! And no, it isn't cheating, if you managed to see what was wrong with the structure and fixed it all by yourself it means you are starting to grasp the correct way to draw it, now you have to keep in mind on what you fixed so you don't make the mistake again, until you find the next one, and you keep drawing! Keep it up! RE: Paca's Workout - nastobi123 - 08-07-2014 Workin out those brain and eyes muscles eh ?! haha nice stuff though. RE: Paca's Workout - meat - 08-10-2014 The robot still life and the huntress came out really well! Also like your environment, has a strong mood! RE: Paca's Workout - PacaTatuCotiaNao - 08-19-2014 I Keep forcing myself to draw faces. haha |
