RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-06-2016 Yang: Hey thanks man, i know what picture you're talking about and it's that photo, it looks really elongated because the angle I took it from, IRL the proportions are correct. But nonetheless i will continue refining facial proportions and all that good stuff. You ever give somebody a critique, and they just ain't ready for it? Yea i love when that happens :) Anyways didn't get much done today, was watching a bunch of french stuff because I've been learning French as a hobby to replace my old gaming habit and it's become fun, but I gotta be careful because i have an obsessive personality, and can sink hours into something i love. Even if it is productive. I have an idea for a new piece, kind of a splash art, been doing a bit of research today on those. poses are everything though, need to practice them more, just even mindlessly, get it even more of a muscle memory; Alex Negrea knows all about that! RE: Fedodika the Koala - Artloader - 10-07-2016 Hey Fedodika :). I like that lighting experiment with the girl's face in post #621 - dramatic! And I think it's good the way you're practicing that pose for your new piece - I do the same kind of thing - sketch the same pose over and over till I think I've got it right - then I go for it. Keep it going dude! RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-07-2016 Artloader: thx haha, I think the thumbnail looks wierd for that experiment, but i enjoyed working on it ;) I suppose the fun of experiments is trying to make it weird lol Sooo, here's some terrible sketches and a concept of a character i made up when i was about 10 or 11; Her name is Gratana Mafalga, and she has a paper thin hat that has a crazy shape. I'll spare you the weeklong backstory RE: Fedodika the Koala - Slapper - 10-08-2016 Oh well, you win good sir. Hope this tutorial helped a bit at least, didn't know that you were just not ''ending'' your painting ha ha. Need to do more research before doing crits for sure. RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-08-2016 Slapper: oooh don't worry, in my earlier post what i said about people not being ready for a crit was me reflecting on this guy, Scroll to the comments on his profile to see what i said; That definitely is what it is, and I'm not going to engage any further http://joebotzer.deviantart.com/ But i do appreciate you taking the time to leave a critique, it would be rude to not be... at least in most situations. More stuff 100% imagination RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-09-2016 Okay, well i know this last one is just a line drawing, but mayne it took the whole morning and most the afternoon to do; and no it wasn't working on the same drawing but erasing, trying diff angles, experimenting, looking at artists I like. Very VERY frustrating. But i noticed the more of those days I have the quicker i grow. If i could distill improvement into one sentence it'd be "Draw what you want to see, do whatever you can to fix it, try to outdo yourself each time." RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-10-2016 debate was guuuuuuuuud RE: Fedodika the Koala - AChi - 10-10-2016 I like the atmosphere and lighting! There are some issues with perspective of both arms tho. RE: Fedodika the Koala - devares - 10-10-2016 Hey, Fedodika! Listen up, grab a copy of Figure Drawing by Andrew Loomis and copy and apply every single picture in it. I'm trying this myself and need some boost from peers. xD What do you say? I promise it'll help you (and me xD) enormously. :) RE: Fedodika the Koala - milkdose - 10-11-2016 Everything seems to be lvl up pretty evenly fedo. Definitely keep that figure drawing up. I would recommend doing the whole vilppu thing. Gesture, form and then anatomy. Great stuff though as ever! RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-11-2016 AChi: Hey thanks! Yeah i know, lol better luck next time, but i tried to tweak them, it's on my DA, too tired to shrink it down Devares: Hey bro, i checked that out finally today, and wow man the first 30 or so pages really illuminated a lot of things i thought i knew, but showed me they were actually real things! Wished i would have looked earlier for realz! Danny: Yea, ive done Hampton, Hogarthe, Bridgeman, Loomis, and it's always the guy I haven't done that they reccomend lol; thanks tho, we'll get there ;) So yea, spent a lot of time reading that Loomis figure drawing book and yea, had a lot of cool revelations; this stuff may not look like much, but it means a whole new chunk of possibilities i can work on. Just gotta... work on it. Ahh the vortex of work never ends! RE: Fedodika the Koala - devares - 10-11-2016 Yep, there's no rest for the wicked, my friend. xD Work it, I just want to see you work it... Damn, can't help my associations. Listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRlW63A3rTk to get my meaning. :P RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-12-2016 Dev: bebebebebeb GAAA im tired... had to wash windows and stuff today, lol, try to get more done tomorrow RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-13-2016 Aighty well, the attachment thing isn't working so i just uploaded these on tumblr and linked em so if my tumblr goes down these will be nerfed haha. It is basically 20 hampton studies of the same torso, and you can really see how crazy and inconsistent my handle on proportions is. I also did 20 hogarthe back studies today, and lemme tell ya this stuff is tedious, but it really forces it into your head, and also trains other fundamentals like line economy, and shape awareness. Also i suck at drawing small >.> RE: Fedodika the Koala - Triggerpigking - 10-13-2016 Long time no see...FEDODIKA!. Your work is looking great as usual, I love the colors in that dark link piece. Ditto on what Danny said about Vilppu, barring maybe Proko I don't think there's a better anatomy teacher out there(just wish his damn vids didn't cost an arm, leg and require human sacrifices XD.) RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-14-2016 TRIGGERED: hey thanks bro, well i looked at Vilppu's stuff and it's kind boring, but his art is very beautiful, so I'll definitely look into copying it. Like I know what he's saying, i just need more time to actually practice, cuz, well you don't need his particular stuff, i mean Michealangelo didn't need it ;p. I got Hogarthe, and Hampton, and everyone else and way more than enough, you don't even need all them, just photos will do. Well more boring academic anatomy stuff in Koala Land! Did the legs with a nice smooth 6B pencil and wow it was alot of fun! gonna wear that thing out haha Basically what you see here is the front and back of the sheets, each of these take at least 5 to sometimes 8 minutes I know these help because i can get back online and immediately see shortcomings in my work and others, so i will apply these soon maybe tonight or tomorrow. RE: Fedodika the Koala - Triggerpigking - 10-15-2016 (10-13-2016, 10:26 PM)Fedodika Wrote: TAG UR IT!!! NO UR IT!! *runs away and hides behind sketchbook* RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-15-2016 TRIGGERED: hehehe... WERK HARDERRR!!! RE: Fedodika the Koala - Hozure - 10-15-2016 Heyo Fedodika, I see you're really into faces and trying to get things correct/accurate. I'd suggest to keep working on Loomis as you are, as well as constantly be thinking about the lines you're putting down. A lot of your faces seem to be very formulaic and at a single angle with *very* slight changes. It might be getting to the point where it has become muscle memory, which isn't bad per se, but for the sake of improving on facial structure might not work in your favor as much. If you find it extremely difficult to draw heads and/or emotions, at any angle, and from imagination compared to your current 3/4 views... just a suggestion! RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 10-16-2016 Hoosier: You're right! Tried to break outta that today, thanks for your input, i was kinda considering that last night anyways :) HWOLY SHIII Im Tired... |
