Your mouse paintings are really refreshing ! RE: Devin's Sketchbook - Amit Dutta - 11-03-2013 Lovely sketchbook. Great brushwork and forms. I sluuuurp it all ups. RE: Devin's Sketchbook - futurespaceghost - 11-03-2013 Love your stuff! Your style is so loose and painterly its like you can see each brush stroke. keep the inspiration comming :) RE: Devin's Sketchbook - devin - 11-04-2013 Wow thanks everyone! You're the bestest <3 First try at an illustration! I'd really love some crits on this. I am so far outside my comfort zone and struggling a bit but it feels nice to be pushing the scope of what I can do. I'm still gonna call this a WIP until I look at it with some fresh eyes. Consuming Roots: RE: Devin's Sketchbook - kikindaface - 11-04-2013 really nice painting dude ! the dynamic is really nice ! one thing is to keep the same difference of temperature between your light and shadow ! you did well on the tentacle, but the face is way too saturated ! also try to play a bit more with your shapes, they seems to have the same size, which makes the overall thing a bit boring, try to add big tentacles, small ones, huge ones, and imo, you can take the contrast a bit further in order to create more depth in your painting ! avoid tangeants with the image border, like the sword that is finishing just at the left border, it kills the composition ! keep it up dude, nice to see you going out of your comfort zone ! it's inspiring ! RE: Devin's Sketchbook - devin - 11-04-2013 thanks man! great comments, I'm going to try and fix it up. here's some quick bot doodles: RE: Devin's Sketchbook - devin - 11-05-2013 RE: Devin's Sketchbook - devin - 11-06-2013 Master study WIP: RE: Devin's Sketchbook - devin - 11-07-2013 finished up the master study, after Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret: calling it on the illustration too, gonna move on and do another! |
