RE: From a cube to a cathedral - judy - 12-23-2012 Week 8 RE: From a cube to a cathedral - DomSinkevic - 12-23-2012 Week9 RE: From a cube to a cathedral - isra-ac - 12-24-2012 Here are the videos with the crits of this week: http://youtu.be/CBPpXlKFSm8 http://youtu.be/q10LaSx6YuE And the assignment for this week is divided in two parts: 1st) DRAW, an environment, only lines, must include foreground, middle ground, background, buildings and some people to give scale. Theme can be anything you want, medieval, sci-fi, terror, present, etc. and you can add a robot, a huge creature or anything as much as you keep thinking in perspective AND don't add too many different elements or your piece will be confusing, think about what's important for you. I recommend to draw/paint some thumbnails to play with different compositions and make a list of elements you want to include in your list, though you don't need to show this to me. You can set the piece in portrait or landscape (horizontal or vertical) Then there will be a crits class to check those drawings and fix issues with perspective or other details. Not time date/time established yet but likely Thursday. 2nd) After having a proper drawing make a full B&W painting of it, using values to add light and sense of space, then pushing it as much as you want adding details and polishing the rendering. Keeping the lines or not it's up to you, but if you keep the lines they must be clean enough. The crits session for that last assignment after the revision will be at the usual day/time, Sunday 2pm local time for me. And here's the paint over for judy RE: From a cube to a cathedral - Egbu - 12-24-2012 Week 9 RE: From a cube to a cathedral - judy - 12-24-2012 Thanks a lot Isra, you have been a of tremendous help for me and all of us. Thanks, and well done, Isra! You just have to look at some of the amazing improvement in this thread to see that what you explained got through to people. RE: From a cube to a cathedral (CLASS CLOSED) - DomSinkevic - 01-01-2013 I thank Israel for astonishing mentorship! For the past 10 weeks because of him I improved my skill not only in perspective, but in composition and design. I really encourage newcomers to watch his lesson videos, practice and share your lovely works in here! After last crit I present my finished piece! RE: From a cube to a cathedral (CLASS CLOSED) - judy - 01-01-2013 Agree with all of you!! This class was amazing, even though i wasnt part of the class (officially), I was treated like one of them. This was my first perspective class and what i learned here has no price, and considering that when i found out this site, the class was like about 3 classes away to finish. But I learned a lot, now, I will continue practicing my perspective because I love it, yes like you heard, I love perspective thanks to Israel!! Isra, the best teacher ever!!!! |
