Dana's Sketchbook - Dana - 01-31-2013 Hi all, Thought i would also add my sketchbook. I'm going to just add my recent thingies, and if you want you can see my previous work and my drawings and all that on DeviantArt. I have adjusted quite a lot on this one ^ right now it looks like this; Also finished this acrylic painting yesterday; I'll try to update it often but i can't promise to do so because i'm a humongous slacker ;) Thanks for looking! RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Nusku - 01-31-2013 These are great! love em. You might want to add "NSFW - NUDITY" in the title. Uhm, most sketchbooks here have nudity and none of them have such a tag, definitely not necessary RE: Dana's Sketchbook - EduardoGaray - 01-31-2013 the 5 and 6 pictures are definitely the best ones. Especially that study. I would like to see more studies like that one. :D Also, i agree with MrBeast, that tag isnt really necessary. I actually forgot to post one that is quite similar to the study you like; Supposed to be Deathwing but messed it up quite a bit; And a sketch that i sort of like but there's so many things wrong about it.. it's kind of embarrassing; Thanks for looking! RE: Dana's Sketchbook - catfist - 01-31-2013 That bouguereau study looks awesome! RE: Dana's Sketchbook - iCi - 02-01-2013 Keep it up, draw at least two hours every day if you can, looking nice! RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Nusku - 02-01-2013 love love love them! Ill look out for updates :) RE: Dana's Sketchbook - mindwrack - 02-02-2013 i think this latest sketch could be really awesome if you fixed some of the problems, otherwise good stuff, keep it up! RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Dana - 02-02-2013 Thank you very much guys! Did some studies today, each are 5-10 mins; RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Dana - 02-02-2013 Did this tonight, no ref: RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Nusku - 02-02-2013 This is awesome! How come you didn't add the colored version? RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Dana - 02-02-2013 (02-02-2013, 03:46 PM)Nusku Wrote: This is awesome! How come you didn't add the colored version? Here's another WIP shot from the dinosaur thingy; Sickbrush gave me some awesome tips to improve it! RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Toxicpanda - 02-04-2013 You are making great progress with that dinosaur :D (I just noticed that I never comented on your profile ._.) Love your studies, they are amazing and your first painting of a warrior is stunning. Keep up with great work :) RE: Dana's Sketchbook - EduardoGaray - 02-04-2013 nice progress in the dinosaur piece indeed, you should try to add some depth and atmosphere to the picture, and retouching the colors/values to get something more a more vibrant look. I will keep an eye on this! RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Lumens - 02-04-2013 I like your line quality in your personal works, though your quick poses are lacking some confidence. Perhaps some gesture drawing warmups might help? Your dino rider is looking promising! if you haven't got his books already, James gurney's imaginitive realism has some of the best insights on painting dinosaurs. RE: Dana's Sketchbook - Dana - 02-04-2013 Thanks all of you! @ Eduardo: I'll try my best to do so, could you be more specific about the depth and atmosphere? i'm not sure how to achieve that, more contrast between everything? @ Lumens: Thanks a lot! I will work on doing some fast gesture drawings and see if that will improve my sketches. Sadly i have only got Gurney's Color and Light book, but i'll look into more of his books, they are brilliant, i can imagine! I really appreciate the tips guys :) RE: Dana's Sketchbook - EduardoGaray - 02-04-2013 yes, the values and the depth of field mainly, but also integrating the characters with the environment, to do that you need to create harmony between the character colors and the background. I know i am like a spambot always saying the same, but if you can get these two books: -Color and Light, and Imaginative realism both by James Gurney. Those books will help you greatly. |
