This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 03-06-2013 Hiya! Looks like I'm not going to bother with Conceptart ever again. Real shame, because I've gained alot from that site. Ah well. RE: This Rookie is Silly - EduardoGaray - 03-06-2013 hey man, i´m glad to see you here, your cartoons are world class. :) RE: This Rookie is Silly - Nexuun - 03-07-2013 Welcome to crimsondaggers man. I've always watched your thread over at conceptart. Great sense of character in your drawings. It makes me happy that I'm allowed to continue to watch you grow. RE: This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 03-31-2013 Oh, I started a tumblr last month. RE: This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 04-06-2013 RE: This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 04-07-2013 RE: This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 04-09-2013 RE: This Rookie is Silly - Dimitri - 04-09-2013 Haha I love the old cartoon style ! Very fun ! RE: This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 04-12-2013 RE: This Rookie is Silly - atrenr - 04-12-2013 Loving studies coming along with the awesome cartoons, keep 'em both coming please!! RE: This Rookie is Silly - Budgie - 04-12-2013 Some awesome cartoons in here (: I see you're practising heads. The loomis book on heads (you're probably already familiar with "figure drawing for all it's worth") helped me A LOT. you can download it here: http://www.alexhays.com/loomis/ Just do some maniac studies, try to draw heads from EVERY angle, fill page after page after page ^^ Good luck, and keep em coming (: Tip for the maniac studies, draw like 20 circles on every page at least, and then fill in the rest. You'll see what I mean when you read te book ;) RE: This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 04-14-2013 Another week, more figure drawings with microns. RE: This Rookie is Silly - Psychotime - 04-26-2013 ...Ugh. Ever have a project that makes you hate life itself? I forgot to mention what my second assignment is supposed to be: A maquette based on one of the model sheets. Troy is gonna be really strict on this and he wants this to follow the model sheet 100%, proportions and all. I realized halfway through that I could have (and should have) made Patty instead. Holy crap, I should have made Patty instead. Clara’s already tricky to draw, but now she’s even harder to make a maquette out of! The only reason I did Clara was because I assumed Patty's giant head would be impossible to do without a "third leg" connected to her spine for support. But now I know that's not necessarily the case. Oh man, I hate this thing. NEVER AGAIN. NEVER. AGAIN. RE: This Rookie is Silly - Nexuun - 04-27-2013 Those figure-drawings are fresh as always. That maquette looks like it was pretty hard! There are some really prominent forms on Clara. Concerning your figures drawing, pose and poportions are good, but if you want to improve your line quality, i suggest you to avoid multiples strokes for the same thing ! just observe and make one stroke as close as possible to what you wanna do ! at first it won't look good, but with time you'll be more accurate and you'l gain some speed too ! Keep it up man !!
