Tristan's Deadly Deathline - Tristan Berndt - 06-16-2013

So this is my year long Deathline.

- Increase study time to at least 3 hours a day.
- Make sure not to leave any gaps when I'm learning fundamentals
- Try not to be a screw up in school for my senior year
- Try and socialise with other artists via skype and find others in the area to increase motivation 'n stuff
- Make a sweet portfolio of personal work so I can branch from private client work to some sweet company work.
- Read more books to inspire me and help me visualise stories
- Work out a bit so my body doesn't decompose over time from just sitting still all the time

So these are my goals for 2013-2014 (june). This sounds very realistic for me. I want to be able to move out of my parents house and support myself through freelance in 2 years so I'll be busting my ass even more after this deathline is up. But one step at a time right?

Let the journey to become an awesome artist begin!

Midpoint update...
About halfway through this Deathline and things are going well.

- My daily study time fluctuates but I'm studying daily.
- I'm becoming a more well rounded artist and have found the type of things I enjoy the most (things that involve human characters and using them to tell stories, show emotions/expressions and those types of things).
- Things are going well in school. I was really stressed out by a lot of things in school last year but -I'm way more organized now and I'm basically never stressed because of it. So my general mood is up because of this and it's making it a lot easier to study art for long periods of time.
- I'm getting deeper and deeper into the artist community on CA, dA and facebook (I've kinda neglected CD for a while but I'm back now!) so that's great.
- I'm doing more of the things I like. I don't have a complete portfolio I'm happy with yet, but I'm starting to get there. Will try and do one at the end of this Deathline when I don't have any more school.
- I read a lot of books... Been burning through the wheel of time books and just loving it.
- I try and work out every now and again. I'll get a gym membership when I turn 18 in February and will try and incorporate it into my daily life.

Additional things to my deadline.

- Try and do more "me work", just focusing on what I personally love and how I can (it sounds really pretentious but fuck it) express my ideas and personal esthetic.
- Get things in order before I graduate so I'll easily just transfer to a full-time art student mode.
- Sleep more
- Be a human being. Talk to friends. Care more about people/be nicer?... that sounds really fucked up but I've been slightly apathetic to social things.
- Update my sketchbook more and be more active (on all sites), study more and study in my physical sketchbook.

Hope this goes well...
