Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-05-2012 Hello everyone, i've been following the daggers for almost a year now, I've mostly stayed in the shadows and been afraid to post my work, but I guess its time to put myself out there a little bit more and get involved if i can. Heres most of my studies from the past week or so. ...those are the majority of my finished studies over the course of the past 3 months. I realize its not a lot but unfortunately school takes up alot of my time and I can only paint when I get open time to get into the school labs after classes. If I can get my camera working I might be able to get some pictures of my model drawings as well. These are a few of my own personal, I guess you'd say "experiments" testing my limits over time as I study more RE: Painting daily - dontfeeddirk - 02-05-2012 cool sketchbook man ! allot of nice studies and paitings . As for the last painting you should make it darker overall , cuz its never gonna be that light at night , even with a fire . greetz RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-06-2012 Thanks alot Dirk. I've gotten alot of feedback on the last piece and i've definately noted the things that are wrong that could be fixed for future use. Its already been handed in for a class so Im not sure if ill work back into it anymore. RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-06-2012 took awhile to figure how to post this without it being gigantic. New WIP for a class project due tomorrow. Probably going to change the figure on the right to be holding a slingshot to tell a bit of a different story. RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-06-2012 Some random study images from a still life and 2 live model 15 minute poses RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-07-2012 2 hour movie still study RE: Painting daily - JasonR - 02-07-2012 Keep the studies comin man. Be careful with getting too dark in your project pieces. I LOVE painting armor studies. Im not sure why but I have the most fun with them. RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-10-2012 Traditional painting still life from a couple weeks back. Finally getting around to taking pictures of things. I ended up painting over the skull because I couldnt for the life of me get the correct shade of brown/yellow for the thing. Random live model studies from the past two weeks. 15-30 minute poses. RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-13-2012 some new portrait study things friends portrait RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-13-2012 quick landcape from scratch RE: Painting daily - Monsieur-Beefy - 02-13-2012 Nice work, your movie studies especially. In terms of critique, in your non-referenced pieces you often blend really soft shadows into highlights all over which makes the planes less obvious and flattens the image. Keep posting daily! ;D RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-13-2012 thanks for the crit, I'll look through and try to improve off of it. RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-14-2012 RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-14-2012 RE: Painting daily - Seth Lange - 02-15-2012 after watching some of daves videos and such i found a few things that could benefit my own work. Pretty much looks like rapoza fanart. |
