Jek's Sketchbook - jekjan - 09-30-2014

Im 19 and my name is Jek.

These are Gesture drawings i have been doing. These are the 'bests of the days'. For maybe a year i'll only concentrate on anatomy and figures.

I recently only started seriously training about 1 month ago. Everyday i battle with anxiety, insecurity and just plain shitty feelings and emotions as i suck :/ so im trying my very best to train very very hard to achieve what i want to achieve everyday.

Much help would be really really appreciated and i would be super grateful.

Nice start to your SB. You should check out Michael Hampton's book Figure Drawing: Design and Invention. Its got a good process of building up from basic to more complex. And the anatomy sections are a good starting place for building your understanding of bones and muscles of the body. Definitely study bones first and then study the muscles and where they attach to the bones. Starting with muscles without understanding what they're attached to wont do you any favors.
