I think your characters are pretty stiff tho. How do you usually draw? do you do construction lines? do you work on gestures?

RE: New Years Resolutions - Zipfelzeus - 12-14-2015

@MasamuneDS: Depends on the situation. I mostly do a construction first. I'll just have to do a few more of them to really get a good dynamic flow. I kinda neglected sketching lately.

Two digital studies plus a personal piece.

I'm loving the beasts and Chet-Zar-ian creatures on your previous pages. I do think you might have the same problem as I do in as much as we consider design, we fall back to overly simple poses with no dynamic. Something to consider.

RE: New Years Resolutions - Zipfelzeus - 02-12-2016

@Rootenpocket: Yeah no I agree! I think that to more design heavy a character gets the harder it is to put certain things into perspective since sometimes dynamic poses would block design patterns and stuff. You also have to be good at fabric movement and a whole bunch of other stuff. I do suffer in general from lack of dynamic in my poses I'm doing some walking jumping cycle drawing exercises to get some more information about movement in my head. I also should sketch more and not be afraid that lines mess up.

Anyway here is a new piece and some preparation sketches.

RE: New Years Resolutions - Zipfelzeus - 04-23-2016

@Sketchosoph: Thanks for the comment! I'm thinking about doing a whole architecture based illustration since I can plan it out better, these sketches are merely done to keep doing some stuff even if I have very little time on that particular day. But you're suggestion made think that I really should atleast push one image to full completion so thanks for that!

Just a little digital sketch.
