Fedodika the Koala
Nowio: thanks bud i get that; i was just havin fun really; don't listen to those assholes who tell you to draw in perspective and use form, just paint with your feelings bro.

Kurt: yea maynes when it comes down to it that loop is what we're on; any deviation from it kinda slows the progress imo. Im very guilty of that i think

Smrr: i dunno what else to say to you sometimes like... I just don't know how to express i love you in any other way than I FREAKIN LOVE YOU. Sometimes my eyes glaze over your comments and a voice in my head just goes "I LUV SMRRFETTE" over and over, sometimes i don't even realize what i read and rationalize my response as uncontrollable emotions of awesome luv 4 smrrfeette XXXXX

Eduardo: hahahaha thanks bro! i totally get that man, i mesh with ya forreals... I just wanna do it all very well and do it all well right now! but the brain doesn't work like that... Dan luvisi is not really what i'm going for because his figurative work aint the best, and i don't believe he's as versatile an illustrator as i want to be someday. And if he ever sees this he can come at me bro. I can't really put my finger on what i want to do exactly, because i have yet to see it done... maybe a combination of the color harmony of like ruan jia, but not necessarily his fictitious color palletes. definately the realism of people like rigney and dave; but like as versatile as algenpfleger who can fuckin do anything you know?

DANNY: YOU WANKER YOU! dude i was just doin that other day, i filled up like a buncha pages of straight fuckin lines and round fuckin spheres bro; it's hard to do right, there's no rational way to approach it; just time and dedication. PS i touch myself when i think aboutcha ;)

Basically to sum all of it up i wanna paint everything SUPER ACCURATE WITH PRETTY COLORS AND LOTS OF VERSATILITY AND BE A MASTER OF EVERYTHING ASAP

Sooo i tried to do a parlour study and well, it was really a headache, but i feel if I do more of these it'll really help because well... if it weren't so challenging it wouldn't be any use doin! The rest are some experiments and shitty attempts to paint hair. will be doin a new illustration soon, it will involve a fox with a shotgun.

GOODNESS ME THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT BBY In love In love

Clowns be scary, I feel uncomfortable looking at that woman clown. It's like I'm confused as to whether or not to feel worried about her. Because it's a chick... with wings... but a clown!?":@

Anyways, so happy you've updated fedoooxiiiiiiideeekoaaaala o/

I need to apply these... and i appreciate all comments and criticisms!

Woah. Those value  studies look awesome. :)

wow!
The imagery in the last one blows my mind, very very inspirational (even if clowns are scary shit)

Aaah Fedo you're improving so much maaaaan
Keep up the hard work

Here is something for you to ponder: I'd love to see you doing more studies with harder brushes. Ger a 100% hardness one (you can set the pressure to opacity, but don't vary the hardness), and let's see how modelling those forms happens.
I feel you have a solid understanding of what is going on, but the airbrush is getting in the way and making everything cloudy and too soft.
So maybe drop it a for a while?

I'd love to see what comes out of it :)
Keeeeep kicking ass man!

SMARFEET!!! It's actually Ronald Mcdonald; i can see why you thought it was a woman though, i added some scruff to his face; but yea he has a somewhat effeminate figure i suppose... Thanks for the compliment on the edges! learned much from that study ! Luvn u is complicated..

Nestregen; lol i did those two years ago! thanks anyways :)

Punk: yea i might start drawing more clowns people tend to have a strong reaction to them; i think they're hot!

Suladamoonah: I wish i could huggz the great sullahs! Yes, my one weakness i do admit to quite often is my OBSESSION with airbrush... it lets me be a whimp with my brushtrokes but you are so right... dang Serge Birault MADE ME DO IT!! I am trying tho, but i can't promise anything ;)

Here's some... stuff alot of it is just experiments and abandoned stuff but well keep goin and stuff

Kickin ass as usual mr koala, Yes! you need to paint more sexy clowns especially ones like the last one you linked, do a study of it and apply the clown to everything you do from here on out whether it be people animals or buildings :P.

The last lion study I think shows a good improvement in terms of your edge control.  I agree with Sula that more studies with hard brushes focusing on planes would be helpful, especially with your faces.  Also, be careful of your skin tones as they tend to fall into yellow/green a lot and lose a little of the warmth that I think would help it look more like skin. Keep on keepin on koalabro!

@Pnata
That explains why I always felt something was off throughout the sketchbook. Its definitely the face proportions/how things are colored. Not sure if that's intentional or not, but do pay attention to it @Fedo.

Keep going.

Haha okay, hello there :) Fist to go is that I like your imagery

Love the edges on the lion study but I can't find many of them in the image above it.
Also the shapes in the image a quite flat, the blue shoulders, the boobs, the arms.
Also there are a number of tangents. And as everyone knows, tangents are evil and should be avoided. :3

But before I go here is a little overpaint i did, hope you dont mind. I tried not to change the look of the image too much so mostly got rid of the tangents.

Trigger: thanks bro i drew a little clown bewty :)

Pnate: Thanks for that good point on the skin tones! airbrush is my crutch :/

zearthus: thanks!

Nowio: Thanks so much i never noticed all those tangents! one day im gonna make a painting with only tangents!

So been takin nathan fowkes class for composition... Gonna be taking on more portraits and try to get those really really solid, maybe spend a few months on them. Gotta specialize!

http://www.theplace2.ru/

I know i gotta work on structure and symmetry and stuff it will happen eventually i'll get it right. I want to get really really good at painting near photorealistic faces from the mind first, then eventually get back into anatomy and design

heres some stuff, i recently got some great ideas for some portfolio pieces and i apologize for being all over the place, but i'm just gonna play it by ear.

For the last piece, i slept on it and decided i didn't like the composition, so i am working out a new and more dynamic one with more story. I think sleep is a very good factor in this, as for me personally, much of my progress seems pre-meditated. I can spend all day sketching and rendering but i think as of late, just thinking about things has done me more good.

I feel better not rolling with the first attempt of things... though i can't bring myself to thumbnail things, i get quite bored if my idea isn't insanely clear before going in. I suppose that's a weakness of mine, even as a musician i was not the best at improvising, though when i compose things and have time to layer, it comes out very well.

vic: mmmm thenks hhehehehehehhee <3 <3 (blushes and rolls around on floor crying rainbow tears of joy)

Dear beginner me; sometimes it helps to do multiple takes on an idea before deciding on one...

Well, i was really happy with how this last piece turned out. It's by far my most sophisticated and tight piece, as far as what i see. Even the DA compression didn't kill it too bad. It's so strange being an artist; you get such a high painting when you're putting alot of  time into anything, then at the last refining steps of it it just... doesn't live up. Lol. I wonder if that ever goes away and you can just enjoy something for the rest of your life.

Went of for a kinda marco style rendering, no nonsense, just tight color on a tight drawing. Used some photo textures for the ground and background and here and there on the character. The previous crowd scene was too ambitious, and i will keep following the KISS mentality. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. until i'm comfortable with doing several figures well.

Sir Koala!

Your recent studies have really been kicking it up some notches! In love In love!

The textures in those face studies = nice af. Very yummy.

I don't agree with what you said about learning structure, symmetry, anatomy (drawing in general) later. Drawing and painting go hand in hand, as much as you may dislike to hear :(
Just saying this because I lav my fedodikakak and I obviously only want the best for you.

Keep doing the thing ~

Gonna get back to figurative stuff! cya in a bit :)
