couple good keks today, still more on the way tomorrow I'm sure! face hurts from laughing so much...
Anyways, here's some boring fundamentals stuff I'm getting back to. I'm starting to see this kind of cohesiveness in drawings that are drawing with proper... structure i suppose it's called? Like, a line thats placed in 3D space, no matter how squibbly or ugly it is, as long as it's in 3d space has this unexplainable charm. My Tira painting, i think has good colors, textures and a finish but the anatomy is busted up somewhere, I'm just not sure where. maybe the arm lengths.
Definitely was the better of the thumbnails I'd tried beforehand, but you can never really plan this stuff too much. I mean, rendering is easy, especially in digital. I found even more cool tricks doing this using a duplicate layer, then hitting equalize on that, dropping the opacity to my liking, using adjustment filters and then using the pseudocolor effect. Really interesting stuff those layer modes can give!
Anyways, gotta get away from painting like i said i would and try to become a wizard at drawing this month; Gonna focus on structure of course, but more on observation and measuring angles/proportions. I think I've made some good progress with that, just not enough yet, so we'll see! I'm doing this because I can copy a drawing from a book and each time it will have wildly different proportions, so yea measuring will be good; have gotten too used to the very forgiving lasso/transform tool.
