there will be stuff besides cartoons (studies and so on), that's just part of a little story i'm a' makin (called "hoax" as you can see). should be daily updates. recently quit my 9-5, so no excuses.

Color comp choice

If you have some words of critique then please be free to state them, although what I really want to know is which version of the sketch I should finish.

hey everyone im si. I'm 24 (almost) and currently at a stand still in my life. im not sure if i should continue going to school for art or just work and paint till i get good enough to try to get some type of job with it. i am one of those suckers that has spent the last decade playing video games and ocassionaly painting but lately ive kicked that habit and have been painting and studying pretty hard core. anyways im kind of an idiot when it comes to making a website so heres my DA

Hey everyone, So basically i started drawing seriously about a month or 2 ago When i said to myself

" im going to learn anatomy "

then i realised i had no idea about perspective, form, light sources.. pretty much anything.

depth in perspective.

for sure my biggest problem with drawing perspective is i do not have a eye for depth.

during construction of any picture with a background i dont know what steps i need to take to determine how far back a picture goes vs how tall something in the picture is.

i can take a photo and work it backwards and easily understand the depth, ive tried just drawing something close and saying "its about 19 feet high" and marking it. then i try to use this measure say, how high a human would be compared to it but still my pictures dont look correct.

does anybody have any links to help on this? or have some words to share? or care to draw on a image to explain this?

Hey guys, I'm new to the community here! I've been meaning to make a sketchbook thread for a while now, but I wasn't sure weather to make one over at conceptart or here. I decided here because the community is massive over there, and I'd rather bump into discussions with people I have already talked with.

Anyway! I'm a 17 year old aspiring Illustrator. I only started taking art super seriously 5 months ago. I use to do portraits back in the day, but now I know Art, Illustrating is where it's all at, after a few experiments.

So I've collected many books from Burne Hogarth and I plan to get many more from other authors. I've been studying plus making my own pieces to apply what I've learned. The older ones I won't post up, but the 2 previous ones I did within the month I will. I will also be posting many studies, doodles and what not. C:

I've been mainly studying anatomy. These are some forearm studies I've done. Mainly looking at the Extensors. Very messy. but trying to understand form.

short and sweet i started getting serious with my art about 2 months ago when i decided i wanted to learn to draw the figure ( i thought this just meant learning anatomy )

since then i learned what form actually meant, about lighting, perspective, drawing in 3d space and at least heard most of the other terms. So i pretty much realised i have no idea how to draw correctly. I picked up a loomis book and now im studying my butt off to try and get my art up to a good enough standard that i could be a concept artist in the future. I'm 20 years old and im starting pretty much from scratch !

Hello, there!

I would like to share with you two of my latest illustrations. I'm trying to move out of my comfort zone of caricatures and portraits.

First I did this Hulk, based on a promotional photografy of the movie The Avengers, adding some personal touches. I had a lot of fun with it and I'm quite happy with the result:

Then I went for this Dark Knight, doing it without any reference. With this one I tried to get a very particular dark atmosphere. The rain effect was something that was not planned but I felt like it would be a nice touch.

My name is Jaume Cullell (aka Jaku) and I'm a freelance Illustrator from Barcelona, Spain, specialized in caricatures.

Since 2004 I’ve worked as character designer and storyboard artist for TV series and advertisements for international studios (Spain, U.S.A, Israel, England, Italia, Australia). I’ve done illustrations for roleplaying games, magazines and comicbooks.

I've arrived to this nice comunity by suggestion of my friend and great artist Isra (isra-ac). My intention is to share my job with a nice group of artists and get some feedback so I can improve and grow up as artist, because I'm starting to feel a little bit blocked and need to move forward.
