Thanks for the kind words, Bookend. I picked up the pencil (tablet pen. same concept.)

I tried doing some silhouettes too, but it turns out I can't do them without an idea/story first.

I don't know what to be looking out for when making these studies. I feel like I'm blindly copying values (even that I don't do very well) without really paying attention to how they correlate.

Yep, same concept. Pick up your (insert medium here), haha.

Beautiful environments. You've got a great handle on value. Keep going!

Thanks again for your help. Grin

I've done a few master studies the wrong way, so I figured I'd try to help you out. I get this 'blindly following values' thing, and I don't think that I could say it better than Mr. Anthony Jones. Grin

Hopefully that'll put you in the right direction with your master studies!

Keep up the great work!

I think you're doing great!

In my opinion, it's not thaat wrong to blindly copy stuff... when you'll try to paint something by yourself you'll feel that something is wrong, because you did those studies. And you'll slowly start to understand how everything works, and work more consciently.

I didn't see the Anthony Jones video yet, I might change my opinion!

Just keep it up sir! Do a lot of studies, and do not forget to paint some things for yourself too!

Took a break and got some distance from art. Didn't really know how much I needed it. Definitely feel motivated, but current circumstances prevent me from really chowing down.

Thanks for stopping by, Bookend and Rhasdra.

Did a bit more progress on the painting in the limited time that I had, want to render it more but this'll do for now.

Awesome enviro piece. I like it. It's interesting. Reminds me a little of Feng Zhu's work. Grin

Back after pretty much more than a week. I feel rusty but motivated.

Thanks for the comment, Bookend. Being remotely compared to Feng is beyond flattering.

Mild touchups to last picture, shitty concept work, drawpile and a WIP Red.

Don't like that Red.

More torsoes (torsos?) and some value work of the spooky full-plated cursed barkeep that can't stop wiping their mugs.

Hey man, thanks for droping by my sketchbook here ! : )

First- very interesting piece with the tree you're doing on post #81, I want that to be more worked on, you could also add some flying ships as well ! :D

Other than that- nice studies and keep working on your values, trust me it's worth it.

Keep it up !

Great torsos and pretty weird/interesting piece below them, haha. I think that if you were to explore the values and gradient in that piece, you might be able to make it more substantial. But, as it is, it's still an effective spook, haha. So, great work so far! Continue! Thumbs_up

Yeah, I dropped that picture. Would need a rework to make it okay.

I love starting every day with a couple scribbles and seeing how they evolve.

Thanks, Book. Figured it's time to move onto other subjects.
