Hi Fedo, yes here is the ref (Simon Bisley Slaine)

I have tried to nail the thing from memory. Deviated a lot as you can see, I`ll end up doing two versions.

digging the scene;

Are you trying to alter the environment of the goblin study?

im sure you could dig more into the forms of his head, his hand and his toe, theres lots of detail and nuance there, also the swords on his back give it a shot ;)

The eye is the center of the soul it tell the story of the character so make sure to spend more time drawing the eye than anything else in the rendering stage.
As you work you might want to jump around the piece and not get caught rendering stuff before the rest is almost on the same page as each other part of the drawing.Detail kill progress.Construction give life and solidity.Detail give life when put on solid ground.

Work it like a cake leave the detail for the end.That my go to phrase to remember when i work.

Small anatomy lesson:

One thing to forget is that we can only see the front teeth.Remember to think of a U shape when you think of the teeth.
The overlapping of the teeth will give dimention to that mouth.

I hope this had been helpful.

I took the liberty to add a hood to help the eye pop up more and so that the attention is also drawn to the mouth.

I suggest you throw in some hair on that forehead it pretty large and draw attention.One concept to draw attention is to create area of contrast.But i don't think you want that forehead to pop that why if you put dark hair it gonna make the face pop even more and it might add a sense of mystery to that face.Also i think you want to pop that head back between the shoulder to create that vilain personality he seem to be more human now that he stand up i don't know if you want that.
