Hey! Thanks for coming in and looking at my sketchbook.
Here are a few facts.
1. I don't draw daily, even though I know I should. I am going to work on that in the coming year.
2. I sketch mostly when I want to do a finished project, so most of these are simply ideas for a bigger piece.
3. I went to an art school that was about being "creative" and less about technical ability/precision. I felt like I learned some things, but not what I needed to learn to be an illustrator and as a result I use reference as a crutch. Without it, I am paralyzed on the page and the quality of my work plummets.
4. This year I want to try and understand/use constructive form in my drawings, rather than the academic method that I learned to draw by. You will see that in upcoming posts as I am going to use Proko.com and my Andrew Loomis books and any other resources I can get my hands on (suggestions?) to become a better artist.
Once again, thank you for looking!
