Crimson Daggers — Art forum

Hi guys (firstly sorry about my bad english)

I'm doing an illustration of The body/Stand by Me (Stephen King), but I wanted to stay realistc illustration. I think that should further improve it over the colors, but I can not think what to do. Can you give me a hand?

Thunder is not iluminating the floor -> boys dont have shadow -> they appear to be floating where legs meets ground
