Been considering joining the daggers, but some one finally gave me that last push..

Im not a good painter yet, so quite embarrassed being here. Aside from feedback, if people would have some tips what studies I should do to improve, thats very welcome :)

So here some few studies that i've worked on over the past few months:

The last eyes look the best, but the color skin is too yellow (maybe the reference was?) and for the eyes is very important that you pay attention to the folds around them to give more volume.

I see in many of your works you use lines to separate two areas, those have to be not lines, but contrast between one color and the other, not sure if it's because you first sketch it and don't remove the line drawing or you draw them while painting but careful with that. I hope you get feedback from more people and more and more you keep getting better ;)

Thanks for your feedback. Yea the skin of the person was very yellow in the reference. I was not really sure if i should have made it more pink or keep with the ref. So i stayed with the reference. Yea i will need to pay attention to skin 'folds' in general, so much to learn and study for me yet.

What i do in my drawings is making a sketch first, then i do basic layer of colour and turn the sketch layer lower so i can juuust see the sketch layer. Then in the end i remove the sketch layer completely. I have added these lines you're talking about while im painting and want to make area's more sharper, i think. Not really sure why i do these lines, but thanks for pointing out.
Some landscape studies and a flower:

Let me know if any one is interested in some practise paintings / studies that i did during my art classes. I did not post them up here since the pictures are not done at all, but let me know what you guys think or would like to see :)
Sorry for lack of updates, I've been very busy with my other job and drama in live. But never stopped drawing.
Some more drawings that i did in 2012 :)

Hopefully i remember tomorrow to add the February paintings and studies :)
I wish i did more drawings in Jan. but i was working 40+ hrs a week, got chores to do so it was quite hectic to fit everything in but i was not too disappointed.
Okay so more studies i been working at, these are from February untill mid February

Never been comfortable with drawing males, and since anatomy is a big weakness, lets just study and study <<
