Okay so in my introduction I said that I didn't have any digital archive of my work prior to 2010 but I just found some :)

There is a LOT missing here and these posts are going to get long enough but here are some drawing drawing that are from 2010 - 2015. I was very inspired by deviantart artists like endling, Robaato, and Chamba. 

Very much was into Anime and Otaku culture (still kinda there in spirit lol)

2015 was when I came out and 2017 was when I really started shifting into more adult these as I explored my sexuality more. 

There aren't in order of year but I think you can see from the progress where years start and end in terms of progress.
2017 was a real turning point in subject matter. I was definitely hyper focused on more sexual themes more than anything. I think over all I was just having a lot of fun around this time. 

Major influences where adult artists like Mentaiko and Gomtang.

One of things that I really like to do is experiment and just fuck around over all. I tried out furry art here and there as well.

More 2017

EVEN MORE 2017 but just the last of it. The rest of these are just some OC stuff.
2018 - This was just more of the previous year but I think it started to look cleaner. I started to have some confidence in my work. A lots of fan art around this time because I was posting on tumblr a lot more (RIP). 

This was the year I was dead set in being a NSFW artist so I double down on studying porn. I just didn't know if I wanted to do illustration or comics? There just a lot more experimenting.

I attempted to do a Halloween comic in 2018.

Last little bit of what I can find for 2018
2019 - I hardly did any art this year. I did briefly just back into traditional studies. Dipped my toe in Animation. 

This year I play with the idea of make visual novels as a form of storytelling as well. 

Most of my drawing too place at the end of the year for kinktober drawing challenge. Some fan art and OC stuff.
2020 - 

I focused a lot gesture and scale. I still had no idea what I wanted to do specifically. I think around this time I knew I wanted to tell stories but had trouble deciding if I wanted to do Visual novels or comics. I was also considering putting more meaning to my NSFW art. At this point was just trying to make pretty drawings.
2021 -

I took a couple of commissions. Still a heavy focus on gesture, more perspective, and COLOR. I was obsessed with the game No Straight Roads. I did a mini comic (unfinished). After working on that for a bit I knew that I wanted to settle on comics overall but began to struggle with idea of doing NSFW. I didn't want that to be the only subject matter that I covered but by this point I felt I was too far deep into doing it. 

Overall a fun year and I like how I am slowly learning to clean up sketches. I even revisited some old sketches to color.
2022 - 

No comics this year but I pushed understanding structure more and I want to continue that in 2023. 

In 2022 was was really focused on understanding my own process. Doing sort of a soft reset on my mindset was really helpful in appreciating the fact that I can create at all. 

Did a bit more Furry stuff in 2022 as well. I have a lot of respect for furry artists. They do good work. I think my furry stuff looks a bit wonky but it definitely is fun  Thumbs_up
and here we are in 2023.

Hi and welcome to Crimson Dagger OG-San! I can see a DEFINITE improvement from the found posts from 2010. Your sense of line is very clear and you are able to place objects in perspective quite well. I'm interested in drawing NSFW work in the future. Curious do you look at porn for references or just go with what's in your head. (Looking at purchasing BL poses to reference) When you started to develop your current art style did you do studies of your favourite Bara artists, then draw, draw some then ref their style or a mixture of both?
I have studies from Michael Hampton's book before, but didn't really understand the part about using curves, but in your examples it's starting to make sense to me. I'll try and go back and practice some of his techniques. I assume you watched his videos for this breakdown?

Thanks again for the welcome. I really appreciate the compliments particularly the one about linework. I take great pride in my line work and it what I love doing to most next work coloring. I study a lot of Kenichi Yoshida's character designs to use in my own line work. I'll attach my influence map.

For Gei Komi (Bara), for the most part yes, it was a mix. I would copy my favorite artist and read anatomy books/posts from all over like Loomis, Bridgman, Proko, Burne Hogarth, David Finch, (and yes) Michael Hampton. The list goes on. I love to learn and no one's information is off the table. I just give them the respect and time the subject deserves and try to make sense of it all on my own.
 
To be completely honest, I thought that Michael Hampton method of teaching was very tedious but over time I understood why he does what he does. Only because I think our minds might process information in the same way when it comes to understanding anatomy; however, this understanding did not come from him directly. It came from the combination for Michael Mattesi, Steven Ahn, and Tom Fox. They all explain gesture, Anatomy, and Structure in their own way. When combined, just makes sense to me. I'm still learning and developing but at the end of the day, all I am concern about it making convincing figures to tell stories. Not to have to most optimal understanding of human function. I'm an artist. Not a doctor  Thumbs_up

Ah yes, I can clean Yoshida's lines and forms are. People comment on my line, but I think it's because I'm afraid of using 'chicken scratch' lines, but I do like the look, too. I have force, but I will look up thought other two as well. Do they have any particular videos or books you would recommend? Something like the example showed? I'm in the progress of learning from my 'art parents' and not being afraid of applying what I've learn. Plenty of artists have done it, just need to get it into my head.
Thanks for attaching your influences board, I might do one myself.  Loving the composition further up with all the characters. Is it fanart or all OCs? Very well done.

Need to remember that I don't need to know everything about anatomy, only enough so your work looks right under the skin.
Glad to see Nesskain in your influence map. I remember when he was posting his first comic panels on a now defunct French speaking forum. But also surprised, as Nesskain is really the odd one off in the style of your whole map.

Are you still working on the Vinyl City comic? I like to comment on layouts in the works. You are doing pretty dynamic and well balanced panels in this one.

Michael Mattesi, Steven Ahn, and Tom Fox all have courses you can check out. Michael Mattesi is very active on his youtube. Steven Ahn doesn't really have any artbooks that I know of but his anatomy course was very well done but I don't think its available anymore. He does have some sketchbooks and free sketch brush (which is the brush I use for sketching now. I really like it. Tom Fox has an instagram where he promotes all of his teaching tools. I have his sketchbook and it is so well done. My favorite resource. 

The characters I am drawing right now are OCs from my friend's comic ONTI. She gearing up for a kickstarter and a group of our friends are help her out with promotion for it. She such a hard worker and I'm very proud of her. Please check it out if you have time. Also, thank you :)

I admire Nesskain's understanding of perspective. Everyone on my Influence map have amazing shape design/character design (among other things). 

I am not still working on the NSR comic. I might come back to it and thank you :)
