RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - slash razor - 03-05-2019

nawwww but I like high butt :) yea didnt notice at the time but yes way to high

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - darktiste - 03-05-2019

Take a look at the desaturate version after a study. She way less gray and alot more white on the lite side. Also no need to add white highlight where there none you can simple use the gradation of value of the background to show the form.Alway also look for the ground plane to know what type of reflected light you will get on the shadow side here since the ground is a dark grey it absorb alot of the reflected light that would normally light up the shadow side.

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - slash razor - 03-05-2019

thanks darktiste for the breakdown.... wasnt really going for a exact copy was also thinking at the time to go lighter but I liked the values I had started out with and mainly judged the values from the colour image .... I like the rim lighting gives it another dimension.... artistic liberties

but that butt to high and wheres her mid section lol

Butts too high, try to visualize the bucket for the hips, the spine and the ribs all underneath the skin in simple forms. Proko breaks it down good in his hip video

Necks too short, and youre missing some major forms in the bicep, i dont think that highlight would ever move in the near C curve you have on it

ahhhh that bloody butt again Im cursed I tell ya.... it must be a deformed model im drawing from lol

yea Im going to have to have a good look at that.... Ive always had problems with the female hip/butt area so curvy, might spend a couple day breaking it right down

the charcoal figure I didnt notice that in the back until I posted the image, was going to delete and try to fix the problem then repost it but I thought its ok to show your failings.... will try and fix that tonight and post

thanks Fedodika

I am also guilt of this but if only people would post the reference they study from (everytime).I would be so happy.Like the saying goes 2 pair of eye is better than 1.

With a quick lay over the original you can see that her right shoulder is way lower than you indicated and you have her a bigger butt than she have.To give you point you did a pretty good job on her head proportion.Just make sure to check for the negative shape around the silhouette to gauge your coutour and proportion. Also alway check for the direction and angle of the shoulder.

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - slash razor - 03-09-2019

thanks darktiste will watch for that

did a couple butt studies might do a few more then move on to the legs suck at those

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - slash razor - 03-10-2019

more butt/hip anatomy study.... made a process

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - Fedodika - 03-11-2019

yea these are looking good, i think earlier you might not have been considering the spine, but now with these closeups, they look alot better. I like the edgework on these, despite im guessing youre using the airbrush tool for a majority of it, dont be scared to use the hard brush to start, then simplify the values then use a lower opacity to just blend. Proko has a recent vid with court jones about the big mistakes in digital art and one he mentions is only using the airbrush tool.

Now i see youre adding some angular shapes in some of these, which is fine but consider the purpose for that. for instance:

Like the way you indicated the trochanter, its razor sharp, i think if i met a girl whose hips looked like that itd be disurbing, id reccomend just adding a subtle round shape and not literally making every straight line. If youre trying the Daniel keyes only draw straight lines thing, you could do that just shave the angle in sooner so it doesnt have that world of warcraft jagged look.

the last butt is very nice, only thing is remember the space between the spinal erectae can be cut in tastefully with a lasso and airbrush to show those columns roundness, but i get those arent part of what youre focusing on

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - slash razor - 03-20-2019

hey whats up daggers been awhile lol been a bit slack lately.... been going thru one of those ruts where I just cant be bothered and making excuses with myself.... so hopefully I can push passed this rut and start moving forward again.... anyway I made a quick enviro

thanks Feds sorry for the late reply.... my main goal was just to draw the anatomy but I decided to do a quick paint over.... I didnt really want to get to much in depth with the painting... so just polygonal lasso around the figure thats why the sharp edges and soft brushed just to fill over my scratchy anatomy lines.... I think it did give me a good understanding of the butt anatomy as well as painting the form even thought it was quick and rough

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - Fedodika - 03-21-2019

I like it... keep detailing i!

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - slash razor - 03-29-2019

thanks Feds Ive put that on hold for awhile

Anatomy studies

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - slash razor - 03-30-2019

more back anatomy

RE: Razor's 2019 Sketchbook - Fedodika - 03-31-2019

youre insertions are good, try adding wrapping lines on the forms to make sure youre engraining the mass of the muscles, ive often found myself drawing things and not being able to summon the memory of how a muscle wraps so every bit helps. Also thicken up those lines, less scratch, more line weight and variation like hampton might do
