RE: Chris Rob's Sketchbook - Zipfelzeus - 07-15-2016

Took a peek through your sketchbook and oh boy you're a really hard worker! Look a all those character designs! I'm really impressed. The designs are really nice too which reminds me what I need to work on.

Anyways here are some things that I would look out for.
1. Stiffness: Not always but especially with your more finished character design the pose feels very stiff almost if as the character was frozen in time. It would be a good to try and figure how to make a standing pose more relaxed or at least feel more natural to the viewer. It's all about the spine, placement of the feet and arms.
2. Shoulders and torsos for days: I know you want to draw really buff dudes and a certain stylisation of anatomy is alright but the shoulder lenght feels to large for the head sometimes and the torso just becomes an almost muscly square box which is really offputting.

If you manage to work on these things your work will be absolutly amazing!

RE: Chris Rob's Sketchbook - IrishWhiskey - 08-22-2016

wow! your dedication to studies is inspiring! How long does it take you to complete one page of studies? sketches/paintings.

Amazing sketchbook by the way :3

RE: Chris Rob's Sketchbook - Chris Rob - 08-23-2016

Thanks Irishwhiskey,
1 page usually took me 30min to an hour, sometimes i compiled 3-4 images into one page if i have more drawings.
as for the painting it takes longer time, usually 20-30 for simple copy, may take up to 1-2hour for more complex ones.

RE: Chris Rob's Sketchbook - BjorkJT - 08-23-2016

really awesome stuff you've got! Your dedication is really admiring.
I'm really digging those foreshortening studies but be aware of the perspective, in some of them it's a little off and the limbs don't really line up in perspective.

Keep up the good work! I'll definitely pop by your sketchbook often <3

RE: Chris Rob's Sketchbook - Chris Rob - 08-24-2016

Thanks BjorkJT, yeah some of the perspective might be a bit off, ill keep that in mind next time :)
