Handheld Tablet w/ pressure sensitivity - Mathias - 09-25-2012

Hi guys,

I am on the lookout for a handheld tablet computer with either a pressure sensitive screen or digitizer pen that would be capable enough to use for Photoshop drawing/painting.

It seems really hard finding one though, would any of you happen to know any or maybe have any yourself that you could share your experiences with?

Thanks

-Mathias

You have a few options out now. The Samsung Ativ and Microsoft Surface Pro both have 1024 pressure level wacom digitizers. The Lenovo Helix is right around the corner and may blow them both out of the water. If you can really hold off though, I might wait for Intel's Haswell processors to hit the market and see what tablet models come out with that.

If you want a cheaper option, you could go with an iPad v3 (for the retina screen). It doesn't have a native digitizer with pressure sensitivity, but you can get the Adonit Touch 4 stylus which uses bluetooth and gets 2000 levels of pressure sensitivity. You won't get full photoshop, but for just painting, Procreate or Alias Sketchbook Pro work pretty well.

I heard that Wacom is coming out with a new tablet. (I guess everyone knows this by now)
