Nae's Bloody Path - Naevea - 01-25-2012
Setting my deathline for 2012. Let us see where this bloody path leads me to...
Considering art:
- To go all through Loomis (and hopefully some Hogarth) for figure and head
- To study perspective more deeply - curved and complex objects
- To study animal anatomy of more than mammals
- To learn to use colors properly
- To study and apply lighting effectively
- To get better at making ideas for design
- To give pictures more "rendered" or "refined" feel
- To study composition of good pieces and the golden ratio
- To do real life studies more often and to get more precise with them
- To learn my patience and not to always let pictures off after just a few hours
- To do all BLOODSPORTS as much as I am able to
Considering life:
- To finish the school year with passing grades
- To have jobs that would allow me to draw as much as possible
- To keep myself in good shape

Half year later.....
Oh it´s really been so long already?
Went through a lot of Loomis and some Hogarth - it will take me a lot of more time to go through the rest...
The perspective is still hard, but I like it!
Colors are fun to play with :))
The light is a friend, not an enemy... still hard to do well, though (little monitor adjustment helped, though)
Making ideas does not work. The ideas are or are not. If there are no ideas, I just paint.
Rendered or refined... Uh.. strange goal... Making paintings/drawings faster, better... still not good enough, though
Composition... is a really cool thing to learn. It just makes life so much nicer :)
Real life studies are the thing I lack the most maybe
Add: Ethnicities come with skill
Life goals:
I have to study for school a lot more; I won´t have the time for art :/
Jobs that let me have too much time are not THAT good for the concetration...
Gotta really start to keep myself fit t_t

Haha haven´t been here for so long...
So updates on the path, huh?
So for the starters, I finished the oh so boring school and applied for a college and uni... Seems I got into the first one and have pretty good chances to get into the uni (art major, yay!)...
Started to keep myself fit too... and got rid of quite a few problems in my life...
Now it´s time to get working and drawing/studying again...

Update on art major - a bit of a warning, maybe. Art as considered by classic schools (especially in Europe) is most certainly not what we do here. Teachers don´t consider any of illustrations as we do them here or concept art a valid form of art, it´s mostly kind of a "junk" art (kitsch?) for them. That being said, it does give a lot in other ways - it opens your mind to another things and possibilities considering your work...
