RE: Fedodika the Koala - -echo- - 09-09-2018

Those figure studies are really showing results, good work and keep it up man!

RE: Fedodika the Koala - roanna - 09-09-2018

Love your figures a lot. Just one advice, until you don't use your background hatching to emphasize the pose, try to do in more subtle. not "light in tone, but try to lay charcoal (or graphite) in a smooth shape of tone, so there aren't any evident strokes. It'll create some "blurry effect" of the background and will help you to bring up front your figures.

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Abnormal - 09-10-2018

haha the same happened to me when I wanted to make a simple standing figure and nothing came out, then I grabbed the loomis book and analyzed all the basic poses that are needed and that is correct at this stage we need to sketch like crazy. Keep going ^^

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-10-2018

Echo: Thanks br00

Roanna: Yea that comes down to sharpening the pencil well, which at life drawing i always dont do a good job of since i get there quite punctually and dont have time to tune it up as well as I want. Excuses! ill go whittle em up tomorrow, thanks <3

Abnormal: hell yea brother, you got some sick shit going on <3

Memory is gud, must train moar

RE: Fedodika the Koala - darktiste - 09-10-2018

Much dynamism much wow.I just don't like that overlap of the left leg you loose so much of the leg it almost like cheating .Also the right leg seem bit rushed for some reason i can't pin point.

RE: Fedodika the Koala - roanna - 09-10-2018

Fedodika:
nice dynamic poses. Are you copying them from somewhere? Love how you break down leg to the simpler forms.
Just one issue, on the last drawing her pubis is misplaced, it seems to be too high in relation to the butt.

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-11-2018

roana: thx, youre right its very high, though in my time have seen some very very high mons pubis, where you could see her glutes between her legs even if her legs were together and standing lol. And I am copying masters of anatomy book 2 i believe by Raul Moreno; theres about 2500 drawings in it to copy all of dynamic poses, he also has a new book i preordered and itll be out end of september with only female poses :)

Darkiste: the dude im copying does that with the legs alot, and it is realistic because theres lots of foreshortening in real life and limbs will often plain disappear in certain poses

I wished i could reaaally do these non stop, but they are so mentally taxing its hard to do more than 5 a day. who woulda thought actually learning and memorizing things was a challenge!

Oh great some comic proportion.

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-14-2018

had to take care of some stuff today, so all i got was this mermaid sketch

RE: Fedodika the Koala - darktiste - 09-14-2018

Make sure you understand the physical difference between female and male by doing comparative anatomy study. For example in the last piece i would have made her with less broad shoulder and smaller hand.

If you want to learn quickly the major anatomical difference between male and female proportion here my advice get this book

Just scroll bit down to find the book and click on the blue link for to read or download.
You can find the book at https://vk.com/topic-4918594_27696136?offset=2500

You can find the info at chapter 8 the page should be 242 to 243 but it might be different since i have a french version of the book.

The section name should be something liike :Establishing the disctinction between the male and female porpotion.

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-15-2018

Darkiste: Thx <3

Life drawin, struggle is reel

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-17-2018

decided to do a little painted study digitally today, im gonna fix the issues with it tomorrow, the nose is too narrow, some of the edges arent well defined, etc. Painting will constantly remind you how much more important drawing is lol, yea bout 5 hrs on it so far. I started with my memory technique and learned some cool things about head tilts when i got the reference back out, how i was getting some things right but not enough. I need to practice profile poses a lot more, for some reason they give me more trouble than any other angle currently

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Abnormal - 09-17-2018

oh!!! O.O, despite everything you mentioned, it looks incredible ^^

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-18-2018

Abnormal: Thx <3

Worked another 5 or so hrs on it today, might fix anything i see in the morning but i think its about done. I didnt really struggle with this one, and i dont feel like i got lucky, so im gonna take that as a good thing. Everything was very procedural and calculated, so im happy with that :)

RE: Fedodika the Koala - darktiste - 09-18-2018

I think your getting on the money in term of skin rendering would be good to see do some other material study.I see alot of anatomy but not alot of cloth study or still life i think you should branch out see what you can learn there.I think those thing are still in the realm of study that are relevent to what i assume would benifit your journey. To stay on the money i would say you should try to use those 5 hour you seem to have avaible into gesture, portrait, analytic anatomy, drawing from reference, drawing from memory and finally some study to learn how to render surface.

I say that since you seem to specialize into character illustration.

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-19-2018

Darkiste: I still need to get a lot of things in anatomy specifically down pat; If i cant draw nice figures from imagination, theres no point in putting drapery on them. Sure i can get a decent portrait with reference but its not enough for me to start learning all these other things which arguably will take less time to get my head around. I need a good drawing style, its gonna take more time with anatomy and once my life drawings start kicking ass, ill know im there. that could be sooner than i think and thx for the comment

Horn: Thanks my dude, we'll see how it does, but im not holding my breath on it :)

Fooling with the symmetry tool today, i did some photobash experiments but i deleted them they were so horrible to look at. I think theres some potential in that for me, I just need to think more in that world. Photobash threw me right into a world i was unfamilliar with, it was really cool and i was having fun just trying different layer modes and seeing what happened. Really helps to have an idea going into it, else youre just kinda mushing stuff around and its very limiting. I need to get a good hold over composition and poses before trying that stuff.

Finding ideal proportions is a lot of fun too with symmetry tool. Tried to work from imagination, the first is closest to my ideal, with the bangs and long athletic build. Of course my opinion could change over time, i also drew a more american ideal with the wider hips as well as a short stack type of figure. I wanna get 3d coat again since my free trial expired, that thing was fun, and only like 100$, would be cool to sculpt some stuff on there

Gonna go for 10 memory drawings tomorrow from masters of anatomy, feel like im getting rusty from not doing it daily, so itll be nice to catch up!

RE: Fedodika the Koala - Fedodika - 09-20-2018

Learnin aint always pretty
