So i had my exhibit opening this sunday. It was really fun and i got to meet some new people. Sooo I haven't updated in a while...Pretty great stuff happening, this has been my busiest month evah and i know it'll get even worse...which is great... :D I got my first bigger job offers, got through my exhibit here, I'm soon finalizing my university application stuff and I'm going to have to make that big choice. I think I'm routing towards Norwich, England with Game Art and Design. I'm excited because it also allows you to do traditional studying as well, like live model sketching, or oil painting and such. The bad side is I'll have to take out a loan, that I will reaaaallly hate paying off, but hey! that's life :) riight... and about art... I'll be posting only some of the digital stuffs i've been doing. I'll post some of the more interesting sketchbook pages later :) so, some goofing around for a start trying out some quick character finished this thing... not a really great result, but it felt good getting it off my chest :D I did a collab with a friend ( sketchbook - click! ), it was really fun. The idea of it is : someone sketches something really quick, then the other person takes over for about an hour without any guidance for the direction of the piece, then the first person again and so on. It's very liberating and it feels great! So here is what we did her me her me her me her this is where she quit and left me to do whatever I wanted end result: and finally two photo studies, first one is about three hours from a beautiful photo made by Errikos Andreou ( around 3 hours ), the second one is of a friends photo that I liked so much I just had to paint ( around 5 hours ) RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Petyo - 04-11-2013 Ха, намерих те. Солидна работа! Продължавай така RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Othrandir - 04-30-2013 Petyo - Thanks, man! I went through your sketchbook too, keep it up! Айде поствай нови неща, бе човек! :D so here's the new batch :D horriblistic sketch thing more sketching around This is a series of 1 hour paintings I started doing as an exercise. It's great for speed, technique and other stuff, but in the end you still gotta put in the hours to really have a satisfying picture. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 #8 failed attempt at a female character...sooo much to work on :( Sketching session from this morning, when my internet went down and I had nothing to do. It was pretty fun to get some weird stuff out of my head this way :D 1 hour photo study, focusing on focal points. 3 hour painting of this guy’s brother http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/533234_553729734657555_283422055_n.jpg RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Othrandir - 05-09-2013 I started doing some fast, weird portraits from imagination... King Robert arrives at Winterfell. Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon having a laugh about how fat they are... First glimpse of Daenerys. two sketchezzzzzzz RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Psychobuddy - 05-17-2013 Fucking fuck man...I stopped following for a while and you've kind of exploded in that time, everything's getting so much better. Keep it up dude. RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Othrandir - 05-18-2013 Psychobuddy - Thanks, buddy! I'm glad you think that way! :) I will attempt doing screencap studies of every episode of Game of Thrones ( Composition, lighting, colors and story are awesome ) in order to get better at painting, since I obviously suck waay too much for the time I've been painting. I need some progress NAO! I already showed the first four studies from S01EP01, so here are the rest and a completed card I'll be doing for myself. Viserys warning his sister not to wake the dragon. Khal Drogo meeting his future wife Daenerys Targaryen. The Mother of Dragons unknowingly grabbing for the first time one of her children. Khal Drogo and Daenerys's first night together. RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Othrandir - 05-18-2013 Moving on to the second episode, I did some before going to bed Lady Catelyn sitting by her son, praying for his recovery. Aryas direwolf Nymeria Arya saying goodbye to Jon Snow after he gave her Needle. RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Othrandir - 05-23-2013 Well this just happens to be the 200th painting ( not sketch ) in my folder, also tomorrow I gotta take an exam in order to graduate high school, so instead of studying I painted this Hope you like it! and process RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Othrandir - 05-26-2013 Well, today's my promnight so i painted something thematic. I call this : Time for prom. RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Nika - 05-27-2013 Great sketchbook, I can see a lot of improvement and devotion into your art. Keep working! RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Othrandir - 06-08-2013 Nika - Hey! Thanks for stopping by! :) HEY! here are some studies a scribbly doodle and here is something I'm working on for a client. I've been on this all day, and at the end things started shifting in the wrong direction, so I decided to take some time, post a much needed update here, watch some "Mike & Molly" and come back to it to look at it from a new perspective, because if I keep painting it's just going to get worse and worse and worse and worse and worse. and worse. aanyway, that's pretty much it... cheers! RE: Othrandir's sketchbook - Madzia - 06-08-2013 You have separate light source for every single object here. With shadow beneath them sun should be in back but guy is lighten from above and lion from left. |
