It seems the lighting is everywhere. It's hard to tell where the sources are or how many are there in that particular piece.  Suggestions: 1. If you think the light setup is too overwhelming, scale the amount back to just one primary light source. If you haven't come across this, there's a head lighting reference in Art of Wei's youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA7mFUWlZjU) I refer to that when I do paintings so the light will be more or less consistent. 2. Here's a guide to planes of the head Try googling, 'Asaro head'! 3. If that's complicated, scale back again and try to render a sphere! Keep at it. Also, I think you should definitely work more on simplifying stuff, going straight for those primal geometric forms, and then adding anything and everything atop of it. Otherwise, it looks wonky. I'm struggling with it myself, so yeah, I'm there right with you on this trip.
