Adz: hey bro, thanks I appreciate the concern, and i certainly know where you're coming from. and yes the last post in the post you mentioned is from imagination, with some reference pulled out near the end to finalize the line weight/tone etc. I drew some puppies today for when i go back downtown i will have something a bit more "marketable" to show people who are interested in my work.
The reason I'm doing these more rigorous studies is because I've had quite a lot of time to experiment and "relax" or whatever I was doing and now my eye is fully aware of a huge gap i need to close in my observation skills. I feel anxious if im not working on closing that gap, because stuff just looks half assed or wrong because I know it isn't right or as close as it could be.
Im not sure when I'll close that gap at least enough to not worry about it, but the more I work on this stuff the more I see what i was missing before.
So today i only got this scratchy study done, as well as some puppy/kitty sketches for when i go back downtown. I have a feeling people would be more interested in drawings of those sorts of things than the monster dudes and wonky illustrations i had brought before. However, its just an experiment, and i do plan on maybe doing a finished piece this month to see where I'm at! fingers crossed
