alright so started working from Nathan Fowkes book and it has really been insightful seeing these techniques in action. I had no idea you laid in the charcoal sticks and then smudged it across with the side of your hand, or the use of a tissue to blend tone!
Still got a lot of technical boo boos im quite aware of now; mainly how to hatch properly, making edges more coherent and careful, and of course eye placement which is something i need to be more careful with. Also watching this Bradwyn Jones dude on YT's vids he has a nice technique im gonna try and learn what i can from. Reilly method helps for sure but observation is still a part of it.
Need to just do more, and watch and read more stuff in between until it works, but yea i feel I learned more today than i have in a while, need more days like this tbh
