Darkiste: im not really seeing it, id need a clear paintover to see if anything in that area is wrong, my eye is not hung up on it, and if i try to move or change anything it looks worse
Chubby: good observation, i lowered the value so it didnt jut out as much on the ear, i see the difference now flipping back and forth but i think the image is looking solid at this point
So im starting this oil painting this week and im preparing rigorously for it. i bought a nice frame and even ordered some artist grade paints for it. I did a charcoal study earlier to find what problem areas id run into drawing wise, so now im on digital working out how to mix the colors i want. Im using a mixer in corel painter and putting down opaque tiles to make myself not blend too much and get bigger strokes before i go to make the first mark.
Tomorrow ill be busy redrawing this, and trying to mix colors better which im quickly improving at after that zorn chart i did. the second image im uploading is a reference that i edited to make the composition i want, the third is me tiling in colors in a very manual fashion, mixing the colors on the Zorn palette on screen and putting them down. Then when i go to oil paint it, i wont waste much time since ive worked out a lot of problems in advance and can therefore mix and think quicker
