I'd love to try that, especially with non-bleached newspaper. love the feel&look

30 Jul 01:09

Jan Kloidt

hmm how do you get clean newspaper?

30 Jul 01:09

BrushNoir

--

and it's cheapest ;p

30 Jul 01:09

BrushNoir

imo, newspaper feels best for charcoal, too bad it's not that archivable

30 Jul 01:08

Jan Kloidt

as if the tools made it any better

30 Jul 01:08

Jan Kloidt

i used to be in an art class where everyone was using giant paper that's like 2€ a piece with charcoal and everything before even being able to draw a straight line, crazy

30 Jul 01:07

Jan Kloidt

also feels great when you make a good drawing and used such a non-artsy, everyday tool for it :D

30 Jul 01:06

and no shine

30 Jul 01:06

Jan Kloidt

30 Jul 01:06

BrushNoir

Jan: sell them online to get your money back

30 Jul 01:05

Jan Kloidt

30 Jul 01:04

BrushNoir

Jan Kloidt

30 Jul 01:02

BrushNoir

30 Jul 01:02

BrushNoir

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c...-03-26.jpg these are the best pens I ever used, no joke

30 Jul 01:01

Jan Kloidt

just putting down ideas seems to work best with ballpens for me. the rendering process with those is so slow that i'm not even tempted to polish my turds; which happens quite a lot in digital for me

30 Jul 01:00

BrushNoir

--

well yeah, like pencil sketch, scan and paint

30 Jul 01:00

Jan Kloidt

--

yeah its crazy :D but the other way around can be really productive imo

30 Jul 00:59

BrushNoir

--

hmm, not sure if I would like that to be honest

30 Jul 00:58

Jan Kloidt

--

there's that crazy article on muddycolors on mixed processes, Kev walker starts in digital, then prints it out and paints on top o_o

30 Jul 00:57

Jan Kloidt

--

yeh i did that a few times already, tis fun

30 Jul 00:55

BrushNoir

--

start traditional then finish digital perhaps?

30 Jul 00:44

Jan Kloidt

--

still not sure if i want to explore a very digital look or if i wanna emulate traditional media tho. somehow i don't want to look like i'm using another medium than the one i'm using but on the other hand i just feel a better connection with trad media

30 Jul 00:42

Jan Kloidt

whoa that looks extremely real @meat
