--ARt that's cheap for really good colour critical screen :)
23 Jul 08:20
--As long as the ref isn't colour critical and you have it on a shitty second screen haha. That has caused me issues in the past :)

--There are some Dell's in the same budget that you should check out as well.

--The Nec seems decent mech. Haven't seen indepth specific reviews on the adobeRGB gamut on it but the summary ones seem fairly good

--I'd love to have two screens someday, it would be great to have one as a painting workspace and the other for ref or whatever.

--But what would you recommend in the way of cheaper monitors for the starving artist who is still learning their craft, Amit?
23 Jul 08:11
--I've been ogling the NEC Multisync monitors, like this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/99...gamut.html

--There are ok cheaper ones too of course that will do for a couple of years until you get pro enough to really need it.
23 Jul 08:09
--Yeah it will become important later. You can get a very good screen for 700US+

--I'm doing more traditional stuff right now, but I am stuck with an aging Apple Cinema Display. It's going a bit blotchy though.

--You should try and work on the best screen you can afford. Since my new laptop died catastrophically recently (no luck with these fuckers) I am working on a really shitty Samsung TV!! It is shockingly bad, but I can't afford a good screen

--No you don't except for the most exacting print work. It is very important to have a calibrated and colour controlled workflow if you are doing print work.

--I try and work at high res as much as possible now. Can be a bit of a pain to up-res if needed
