--It's a scorcher here in the UK today! 31 degrees!
19 Jul 18:53
--Shameless selfpromotion: Heya if you guys like Dark Souls. Why don't you take a little peek into my sketchbook in the next few days. :D
19 Jul 06:55
--That sounds like a good goal! Short studies are of course easier to implement in to your day if you're busy but you can also work on a long piece for an hour each day for a week. The most important part is of course doin something. hahaha
19 Jul 06:50
--cheers for the advice. I'll keep the aims in mind. I'll do speed for a few days then maybe 2 long studies a week or something.
19 Jul 06:45
--Long studies for accuracy and the rendering practise and short studies for speed and training yourself to look out for what's important and what can be implied
19 Jul 06:38
--Is it worth taking longer or just sticking to my time limit of 30 min max and concentrate on improvement of accuracy for next round? maybe occasionally do a longer study to practice more nuance.
19 Jul 06:33
--A backflip looks also easy but when you try it you'll usually fall on your ass. It's all practise! Just keep doing it.
19 Jul 06:23
--I'm just sat doing film cap value studies and my f'ing god I do not know how people make these look so easy.
19 Jul 05:58
--anyway notan cc seems like an interesting idea. I was also thinking about a collab edition (2-3 man teams) and we have a pretty nasty idea for anniversary 1 year challenge
19 Jul 05:57
--@lodratio: what Adma said, try to fill in the basic colors and go from there, should work better for you
19 Jul 05:26
--it helped me right at the awkward stage of learning how to bring things all together
19 Jul 05:26
--Seems like a good idea. I'm always guessing a bit too much when it comes to joints
19 Jul 05:23
--thats a good start, I would tighten down the sketch further until you have indications of where the form is rolling towards. Like in area where the legs are attaching to the body and hands. Zoom in and figure out if each area of the forms make sense. Im using a method I learned from Devin Platt atm. http://texahol.blogspot.ca/2013/05/some-...about.html
19 Jul 05:18
--Actually, I have a sketch that I wanted to work on some more. maybe you could tell me how you'd go about turning it into something finished.
19 Jul 05:14
--it would be way less pressure to start something if there were less focus on having a more developed process as the bar to entry
19 Jul 05:14
--ya, getting from a decent looking sketch to an anywhere near presentable finished illustration is a long road, and for people like you and me who haven't walked it that often it's easy to get lost.
19 Jul 05:13
--i have a good idea of what im shooting for but only now am I learning ways to get there
