Hear that everyone. Amit's already disappointed. Just as disappointed as my girlfriend is whenever I take my pants off.

Gah, I have to say something because it's so disappointing. There is something very important missing from every single person's approach to CC5 so far. We couldn't believe how basic it is...but it has been woefully missed by all. That is all.

Then again, that's the same process for logo design.

And dayum, coming up with 50 different building [insert any subject here] sure is intensive, especially in an hour long, or wait actually that was 45 minutes focus time.

Originally Peter Han is where the drawabox creator learned from. (Dyanmic Sketching from Peter Han) basically the same exercises from Drawabox

But I also like to mix things up a little bit so keep things interesting.

For me seeing improvements in my skills motivates me - and I improve fastest by staying focussed on one area.

@Beardyish: Sounds like a good plan to me - I'd say do whatever it takes to help you stay motivated (welcome to the shoutbox by the way :)).

Cheers guys, I feel less guilty about kinda indulging in other bits whilst I still work on my super fundamentals. I'll make sure I always have a personal piece going that I can tailor study too as well! ta for the link, I like particularly the deconstruction practice idea as well, something that seems really worthwhile.

but yeah what Hermidraws says, it's best when it's connected to a thing you want to do and not just random studies for the sake of studying

Don't take my word for it since I'm still trying to figure out a lot of stuff but in general it's not necessarily detrimental. Sometimes variery in daily excersises can keep more interested in doing stuff since you're not doing one thing.

Everyone works differently, but as of recent, instead of doing random studies, I do more specific studies, and even better when you combine it with a personal project.

11 Jul 07:03

Beardyish

so, has anyone found it better to just focus intently on the one thing?

11 Jul 07:02

General question here. In terms of studying specific subjects - do you find it detrimental to study more than one thing at a time i.e doing anatomy/perspective/form studies but then trying to do daily composition/value studies from filmscreens etc as well.
