--Meaning, I draw something from imagination, something's wrong, then I look at reference/ study a lot the specific topic, and then I draw from imagination again

--To be honest I use this method, it's already built in me (Do-Study-Fix/Do), I think you just need to find your natural way of learning

--I know of no other way other than studying/applying. Study not only copying, but the perspective theory too. Bigger shapes first.

--I'm working on that myself, just drawing stuff while trying to understand what you are drawing helps, plus grinding the hell out of what you want to draw form imagination is helpful too:P

--I don't know if I've ever mentioned this but, almost every day, I'll be watching a live action show like game of thrones or breaking bad and think ''Woah, that nose looks so realistic, that lighting is so well done, those feet are perfectly positioned in space! they are in the exact right 3D plane to make the figure look like it's sitting in space!''
