@Nous: indeed manga studio 5! for drawing is just the best

Nous

You can concept it in photoshop - but any text and logos must be converted to vector for print reasons.

which I can't do in a new software at this time

I better start fleshing out my sequenials - but it's not for the parents!

30 Apr 08:57

so I should make the design first then? I usually figure out the design while inside Photoshop

plus full illustration of characters, and Arena

I once did a whole wedding invation with rsvps and map directions in PS only to find out I had an evening to completely convert the whole to illustrator, which I had never used previously.

Nous, Edu: yeah, Edu is putting out a page like every other day

30 Apr 08:55

but it's been next to impossible. Might end up resorting to gradient, color boxes, text, and then slapping product photo on.

30 Apr 08:54

Nous

Eduardo, that'sa serious amount of work you're done there! Especially on Rainfall - are you using Manga Studio for that?

30 Apr 08:53

meat

--

yep, so I watched a few Illustrator tutorials, thought I might be able to do it

30 Apr 08:52

Nous

--

But essentially it would have to be printable?

30 Apr 08:50

meat

Nous: this may or may not be for print, it's a 2nd art test for a graphics designer position. So supposedly it's not really for print or pay

EduardoGaray

mm i dont remember the name of the company sadly

30 Apr 08:44

Nous

I reckon it takes far longer, in terms of negotiating payment and then chasing them down. Secondly the planning/prep work for the sketch. Do you have any examples of the images you're taking about?

30 Apr 08:43

you guys are so helpful, I love you all. FREE BEER

30 Apr 08:41

Nous

200 euros a day isn't too bad, come to think of it. Have you got an online of that sketch you did?

30 Apr 08:39

EduardoGaray

the euro is already 1'30 USD it sucks

30 Apr 08:38

EduardoGaray

it was such a bummer xD

30 Apr 08:38

EduardoGaray

judging by the level of detail in their stuff, i say it could have taken me around 6-8 hours but still

30 Apr 08:37

Nous

200 for a 40 hr (at best) painting? McDonalds pays better.

30 Apr 08:37

Nous

--

Think about it. Would an oil/acrylic painting of the same caliber be sold for such a rip-off rate, with no rights of the artist to their work?

30 Apr 08:31

EduardoGaray

--

i though awesome! in euros that is.. 200

30 Apr 08:31

EduardoGaray

i remember when one of those japanese companies contacted me, they said, we will pay you like a bajillion yens

30 Apr 08:27

Nous

It looks like you'd be better off in Wizards before Applibot, as they pay crap entry rates.
