90% of the artists I know have been through that fase, now they are good, but then they were mediocre if anything. And I've had people being amazed at my shitty paintings full of mistakes (like literally, if I went through everyone's sketchbook in here, we would find a common place in the first 5-15 pages were our work looks all the same)

Alright, am I the only one who has seen galleries of ''Amazing art by prodigy childs'', with work that is literally the low-middle level work that we all do? You know, pushing too much the contrast in values and getting skin that looks metallic, or giving everything a plastic feel

branstorming is all about finding the right idea randomizer is more about doing a new idea never tried before

darktiste

but a randomizer is more like i for my self to do it

29 Apr 02:23

darktiste

for me brainstorming is when you take what you know and try to find interesting mix

29 Apr 02:22

Gliger

--

that's what I call brainstorming, part of it at least

29 Apr 02:22

darktiste

like a kind of randomizer generator

29 Apr 02:21

darktiste

--

try to do list and you mix 2 list and see what come up

29 Apr 02:20

Gliger

Yup, I do that too in my design process. I feel like my worklflow is just not the ''average'', what works for most people doesn't work for me, which is not a bad thing because I already have a lot of my workflow figured out

29 Apr 02:19

darktiste

or you do some dark silouette and try to come up with something

29 Apr 02:19

Gliger

The thing is, I get my best ideas when I'm super concentrated in getting them, that mens, when I'm looking at a blank piece of paper thinking about what I'm going to draw, or sitting in the bus trying to figure out how to improve the delivery of a joke I wrote down a week ago

29 Apr 02:18

Gliger

That's how I start many of my paintings haha

29 Apr 02:17

darktiste

i have seen one exercise you do random scribble and you try to do something with it

29 Apr 02:16

Gliger

Yeeah, totally useless too

29 Apr 02:15

darktiste

have try brainstorming?

29 Apr 02:03

Gliger

Dan Luvisi keeps mentioning it, and I keep trying it but in my case it's useless. But i've found that running for 40 minutes in the morning keeps me more productive during the rest of the day, and I'm more creative sitting in the couch, meditating or whatever, without any distractions (or ignoring them), I think it's because then I get bored, and my brain has to think about something, I come up with the most random ideas

It doesn't matter how many times I try it, walking doesn't work for me at all
