--Any good books on inspiration? How to feel inspired and all of that
16 Apr 13:14
--i made it a resolution to goto cons this year and i already missed one at the end of march. it was a launch party for the new moba smite and i was going to meet the dev team even though i didnt play the game
16 Apr 12:07
--Yeah, I really want into fantasy, but I wouldnt mind a right foot into animation with vis dev and color keys. Problem: I need that damn Visa to get into the USA. I should man up and apply for it already =/
16 Apr 10:02
--Damn, that's over in the States. I'm into it all at the moment - from 3d to concept art. Most of these conventions cover many disciplines (espeically gdc in Europe). I can't believe I missed the london conceprt art conference last year (even if it was run by Manely!).
16 Apr 09:37
--At least for me, CTN-X was totally worth it. I'm making sure to go every year now.
16 Apr 09:35
--I think I remember Riot Games being there. But I didn't pay attention to the game companies.
16 Apr 09:33
--Not sure if it's your industry, but it's a great convention. Went there last year.
16 Apr 08:57
--There is the 3d angle to learn also (for illustration and games) plus other skills/projects and I'm not getting any younger - and all this is entirely self taught - which I am doubting it's efficiency in the long run.
16 Apr 08:52
--i feel exactly what youre feeling nous i vent alot but i started just doing thumbnails for my ip while listening to podcasts
16 Apr 08:47
--True, in fact thumbnailing is a lot of what I do, beyond the listing. You do give a sense of hope though - I can't be venting while precious time could be spent venting and drawing!
16 Apr 08:47
--nous i didnt mean to rush out some trite idea just to make money off of it but in the case that all you have to do is just make the content in comic form or whatever, patreon is an option for getting a quick response from the audience youre trying to reach
16 Apr 08:44
--technically nous you could be working on it now even if its just a bit or a little thumbnail sketch, youre taking intiative and putting in the back of your mind you should go back and work on it when the time comes
16 Apr 08:43
--This is the bane of the artists life. I mean if the business angle was or sole reason for living we'd all be either forgers or in different professions! This is atheltics.
16 Apr 08:42
--I hate the fact that the cash incentive must be included - I mean geez, i could make decent money doing other crap but my vision would never be realised.
16 Apr 08:40
--I don't wish to achknowledge my abusers, but I barely sleep anymore and I still have reserves of energy. Planning and execution, this is the key - to know it'll take hard work, life sacrifice and time, but it can be done.
16 Apr 08:40
--its not alot just a couple hundred at max per page, but thats per page. as long as you keep writting you keep building fan base with the potential to make even more
16 Apr 08:37
--true but that experience is just fodder for your story. maybe you could do the whole comic thing on patreon and have backer pay by page. thats what im planning to do
16 Apr 08:27
--Even if you get landed with commissions from applibot you won't be pulling in much bucks to really make a living. Best thing is to join an atelier and beast it.
16 Apr 08:25
--Trying to even train is a problem. The only thing you can do is actually do it and realise it may years longer than you realised, even at full steam.
16 Apr 08:24
--I have - but it's time that's a bitch when you're trying holding down a job that doesn't bring much fuffilment. I can't believe I got landed in shitty situations working for dodgy people (in the past). No choice but to make the most of it now.
16 Apr 08:20
--basically what im trying to say is take that life shit nous and put it in the story haha
