I agree with edu in a way I can't explain, what I think is bullshit is measuring it, there is literally no way you can say someone has talent unles you follow literally everything the individual does from the day he was born and you can read his ming to know what he's thinking at all times

thats probably, what people mean by talent

10 Apr 01:47

EduardoGaray

--

i mean, just like some people is born with different physical features, intelligence and the way your brain works varies greatly between each individual

10 Apr 01:45

EduardoGaray

well you may disagree with me, but i dont think everyone has the same potential

10 Apr 01:44

topliner

i think most people have the same potential, but in whole range of different activities

10 Apr 01:40

I just think that, no one is ever going to reach his own max, so it doesn't matter if someone's max is a little higher

IQ is abstract, you can observe the world around you and get better information rather

10 Apr 01:38

Gliger

--

It's like talent, or at least it's used like talent

10 Apr 01:37

Gliger

--

IQ is the only thing I know about relatable to what you said

10 Apr 01:35

topliner

--

you care enough tho to mention it, so whats bothering you?

10 Apr 01:32

Gliger

--

I still have no real reason to believe IQ is a real thing, the best don't care about it, and those called mathmagicians practiced math a lot from a very young age

Are we talking physical tasks? then yes, if not 99% of it is how you grow up, your approach to the problem and what you focus on

10 Apr 01:30

topliner

we cant all be equal and we are not

10 Apr 01:30

EduardoGaray

--

exactly, normally is just that + environmental factors

10 Apr 01:29

topliner

--

some people are just better at preforming certain tasks, and will outpreform others with the same amount of training

10 Apr 01:29

Gliger

--

That said, I know there are hardworking people who know what they are talking about and believe in talent, but think that most of it is still hard work

10 Apr 01:27

Gliger

I need to have a conversation with someone that truly believes in talent and genius, and ask them ''Do you think mozart played like that from the day he was born?'' Because the obvious answer is ''No'' and then keep the conversation going till they realise that Mozart played all day for a ton of time until he got his first good piece

10 Apr 01:27

EduardoGaray

--

people use the word "talent" in the same way they say "magic" or "god" its a term to define something they cant really define or explain

10 Apr 01:26

Gliger

It's like what Ash Thorp has metioned a couple times with the painting with fire docuemntary, they are like 30 minutes about his childhood, then ''Frazetta did his first comic stip, then he drew comics for 10 years and started doing illustration'' it's like whaaaat, you just skipped 10 years of training like nothing+

10 Apr 01:25

EduardoGaray

but rocky is all about hard work and determination, while amadeus was about "talent"

10 Apr 01:24

EduardoGaray

--

on that we can agree

10 Apr 01:24

Gliger

--

I hate when in movies they remove the hard work from the ecuation. It's like, at least put it in a montage dammit, Rocky did it, and Rocky is awesome

10 Apr 01:24

EduardoGaray

damn right, mozart wasnt a fool and salieri wasnt a villain

10 Apr 01:20

Gliger

IRL Mozart worked his ass off

10 Apr 01:16

EduardoGaray

i never liked how that film depicted mozart or salieri
