omfg. Went to the physio and he said I have the traps of an 80 year old!! Posture up people, nothing is more important while you work... I actually have a freaking diagnosis for what's wrong, why I get the arm pains, pins and needles, etc. And I'll tell you, it's painful as shit having it massaged. If I went on without seeing the physio, he told me i wouldn't have been able to work in the art field.

Yeah, I just remembered seeing a glitch in mass effect which placed the player at the top of the level, and it was just a gigantic cube with clouds on on its inside.

Sure for the business end which will always call for that sort of stuff. More so for personal work you're actually creating a timeless piece of art.

in the end we're all just artists struggling to keep our heads above water.....

I'd say you're correct for the most part - but it's all to do with speed for production.

Look at rigney now - I like his work but he's using all royality free images from deviant art. What we get is more matte painting.

...I could be wrong, it's just my speculation...

if you don't have that, start out and got in later like in 20's 30's, I guess you have to use short cuts to make up for that

building their skill and library from teenage or even childhood years

05 Mar 13:23

meat

some of the concept artists I respect all started out working real hard real early on

05 Mar 13:23

meat

the insatiable request for speed upon concept artists also drives that

05 Mar 13:21

Concept art is raked with trickery and questionable copyright issues.

05 Mar 13:20

hmm, yes, some times it's more important for you to save time than hone skills at certain point in time, or for certain project, or certain art field (concept art comes to mind)

It's trending now that a lot of comic artists are building whole 3d models and just re-drawing over them in ps. Very handy btw - and it's not just robbing stuff from google warehouse, which I have noticed some mainstream image comics do. Of course they argue when it comes to work for hire and production - they'll cut corners as usual.

The results with creating an entire 3d scene can be so much more quicker and accurate tbh than using perpective (which is indispensible to know anyway but worth noting).
