It sucks cause he's never there. That's the business model.

Gliger

Nous, do you have a deviantart or something?

25 Feb 01:07

Gliger

--

I hate it because it's not 100% sure that you'll get a crit

25 Feb 01:07

Nous

--

I did that.

25 Feb 01:07

Gliger

--

you also have noah bradleys art camp

25 Feb 01:05

Nous

Hell now a good quantity pros do livestreams. I guess it's a hussle networking job of kindly nugging these folks to crit.

Gliger

I've never been to that academy, but it's in the same street where I go to do live drawing sessions

25 Feb 01:04

Gliger

--

you could also try to get crits from the awesome artists that do livestreams, some of them do them, I think sycra does some every once in a while

Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando - where Dali studied.

Ah a big city would certainly have more options.

25 Feb 01:03

Gliger

I'm in madrid for example, there are a bunch of art academies in here

25 Feb 01:02

More academy than atelier

25 Feb 01:02

Nous

--

Where is this Atelier you are referring to?

25 Feb 01:01

Gliger

--

It's like red engine, although the chances of the teachers being known entertainment industry pros are pretty minimal, just make sure they know their fundamentals really well

25 Feb 01:00

Gliger

and get crits regularly

25 Feb 01:00

Gliger

--

that's why the 1 hour per week atelier is great, you pay 70 bucks a month (the price decreases usually depending on the ammount of hours you take, if you take 2 hours per week it doesn't cost 140, it costs 120, an so on)

Good morning daggers

25 Feb 00:59

Nous

Exactly, unless you met these people in person or they got to know you some how, but you'd want regular revisions.

25 Feb 00:58

Gliger

--

that's why people go to workshops, workshops are literally those 2 best things that artschools have combined in one place for a couple of days, crits and pros working live

25 Feb 00:57

Gliger

--

I know mike butkus is on concept art.org, but I don't know if he does crits, and even if he did there'd be too many people wanting one

25 Feb 00:57

Gliger

--

you can't compare that with getting one from feng, or scott robertson

25 Feb 00:57

Gliger

--

Every crit I've ever gotten online was from either a begginer like me, or someone slightly better

25 Feb 00:56

Gliger

--

literally impossible, I still wish some artists would just do crits online, like, I pay them 40 € and they give me a crit, that'd be awesome

25 Feb 00:56

Nous

Enter the internet and viola.

25 Feb 00:55

Gliger

--

Nope, crits are the most important, you can work as hard as you want to on your own, getting crits on your own is virtually impossible

25 Feb 00:55

Nous

--

Or you have mentorship. It depends what motivates you to bust balls, but I have to work too.

25 Feb 00:54

Gliger

--

It's not usual to get quality crits from the internet, unless you have mike butkus or something like critters.

25 Feb 00:54

Nous

--

It's also the students and work environment - which are just as important.

25 Feb 00:53

Gliger

--

the best part about FZD, art center etc. are the crits and seeing a pro working live

25 Feb 00:53

Gliger

--

you can go to art center for 1 year too,

25 Feb 00:52

Nous

--

That's it?

25 Feb 00:52

Gliger

just make sure you have 1, just 1 teacher who can give nice crits, and that's all you need, go 1 or 2 hours per week and show them your work
