Art centre is now out of the question. fzd slightly more realistic compared to the price of the others.

Renaissence quality Ateliers are rare to come by - and they are expensive as hell to join.

those 9 months in FZD will look like hell on earth after a week of those 16-17 hours per day, you'll stop being romantic about it in no time

25 Feb 00:50

Gliger

art center is fzd but for 4 years, they work as hard. You can go to an atelier 1 hour/week, and still work as hard as the fzd students, AND still get crits, which is the best part

It's cool , glig - my keyboard is on it's last legs.

25 Feb 00:49

Gliger

she* dammit this keyboard is killing me

25 Feb 00:48

Nous

And why fzd seems appleaing if its only a year of busting balls to level up.

Gliger

she worked* and studied*

25 Feb 00:48

Gliger

she working and studying/freelance art at the same time, whe might have a lot to talk about

25 Feb 00:48

Nous

Yeah I have to get into life drawing when it starts up again.

25 Feb 00:48

Gliger

--

ask ursula about that

25 Feb 00:47

Nous

That's why the romanticism of self taught seems more appealing while holding a job that actualyl makes you money.

25 Feb 00:47

Gliger

I go to live drawing sessions a few times a week, and I'll do it every day starting next month, there are cool people there. No one my age, but still, it's nice

25 Feb 00:47

Nous

it'll help but it'sa 50,000 debt that will be hard to handle

25 Feb 00:46

Gliger

If it helps you, DO IT, there's nothing wrong with going to an atelier, or art school, same way there is nothing wrong with not going to one, and if you can't pay it, you can go to cultural centers, or find a group of people who paint weekly

Discipline can come from competition, fear, or passion. Mine comes from all three of them 20% competition 10% fear, 70 % passion

25 Feb 00:42

Nous

--

Discipline is a huge part of it, or simply obession from a young age. Yes now if your competing like that in Ateliers then you'll have superstars.

25 Feb 00:41

Gliger

Of course, look at effin renaisance, 14-15 students lerning from a master artist, competing with eachother

I'll say with the internet and online learning has caused a revolution and it's growing all the time but environment helps a lot.

maybe he painted warhammer as a kid, or often visited museums, or did sudokus for fun which activaded some part of his brain...

25 Feb 00:38

Gliger

Idk, you'd have to know literally everything that person has done since he was born to know if it was raw talent

25 Feb 00:37

Nous

--

Talent has to be developed, but some have a head start.

25 Feb 00:37

Gliger

On a completely different topic, Chiustream every thursday from now on!

25 Feb 00:37

Gliger

--

I still haven't seen talent, so it's completely reasonable for me to not believe in it

25 Feb 00:36

Nous

Luck has some factor, but so does inatness. I'm not saying things cannot be learned if you scientifically apply them to a certain outcome - that's what school is for.

25 Feb 00:35

Gliger

--

Maybe you have practiced lateral thinking more than someone else, or you approach a problem in another way just because of luck

25 Feb 00:35

Gliger

--

That's just because of how your brain works, experience combined with chance

25 Feb 00:34

Nous

Some people just get stuff that others take ages to come around to. Then they are able to absorb and translate a lot better.

25 Feb 00:33

Gliger

Explain

25 Feb 00:33

Nous

--

I do because I've seen it.

25 Feb 00:32

Gliger

--

I don't believe in talent...
