--and thats the first step to recovery ghost
13 Feb 17:38
--i could overdose PB squared sknickers i bought 10 bucks worth. i think i have a problem..
13 Feb 17:33
--Some of the best students I've seen from fzd were non-asian international students - what matters is the quality of student and teacher - I see some tops names have been dropped off the faculty recently.
13 Feb 17:16
--Probably better for most to find a more consistent work schedule and not such a voltile one.
13 Feb 17:12
--I remember working 16 hr days for like a month or two, but that quickly backfires and you end up needing 16 hrs days to recover, that's just me though
13 Feb 13:01
--there are alot of FZD students who arnt asian just look at the graduation shows on the fzd channel
13 Feb 12:40
--Point is, FZD students work hard, maybe too hard. Maybe that's the best way to train. Who knows, really?
13 Feb 12:40
--Plus, a lot of FZD students appear to be local Singaporeans. And their culture pushes them to train intensely, I think.
13 Feb 12:18
--And well, you CAN handle periods of bursts - working intensely and sleeping little. I do think doing that for too long (probably one year IS too long) may be harmful though
13 Feb 12:11
--Nice job Sula :D Wish you the best with your studies. There is always the option of a part time job if you reaaallly need it. But I am sure you will do great :D Goodluck with Painting Drama :)
13 Feb 12:06
--Painting Drama 2 with Chris oatley started last week too. Now it's time to get real. If I fail this, it's nobody fault but my own.
13 Feb 12:06
--:D I worked, I saved. I quit. I have tried to mantain a full time job but i wasnt really progressing with my studies - so yep. I'm out. Today was my last at my full time job. Kinda scared but excited
13 Feb 12:02
--If you took fzd, having a job would be jeopardising as it's only a year to cram all this crap
13 Feb 12:00
--I'm simply quoting on Scott Robertson, It wouldn't be 20 hrs a day for 4 years, but in the final it would be crunch time.
13 Feb 11:24
--its not "20 hours a day", it's "work until it's done"...I doubt everyone at the art center works for that long each day.
13 Feb 11:16
--but how can you protect your arms/wrist with this level of stress/workload
13 Feb 11:16
--I think 20 hours a day for a one or two days isn`t the problem - I mean, body and mind can switch to this stuff
13 Feb 10:32
--I'd have no problem crunching it for a year if I could see the gains. This is why a structured environment with competing helps you keep motivated and on track.
13 Feb 10:31
--Art centre is 20 hrs a day with every week calling for all nighters. It prepares you for client work when you can work at that at half capacity.
13 Feb 09:54
--They probably don't stay healthy, both schools are high pressure and heavy workload. I'd bet their students have to endure some serious stress.
13 Feb 09:40
--speaking of drawing all day long: how do fzd- or art-center students stay healthy?
13 Feb 09:07
--But yes, isometric exercises are the way to go. Don't need weights to get some good exercise
13 Feb 09:07
--tbh, I was doing that every morning last year with my yoga - though I overdid it, which is what caused my shoulder problem. Though I made have been hyperextending the joint, dunno 'til I get some tests done.
13 Feb 08:42
--In short that article tells you that you can get stronger by flexing, with no necessary movement.
