You don't need to paint a huge amount of studies anyway, most of what I know I learned from watching TV/Movies and from just sitting in the park. Paying full attention is what teaches you.

life studies are ballinnnn

11 Feb 02:49

Ursula Dorada

--

(it's the reason trying to study only from photos can be equally bad - they are adjusted you're missing on some fundamentals of light if you're based solely on them

Palettes straight from photos are usually bad anyway. There is a reason there is so much retouching and post processing on every photo nowadays. So paint away :)

11 Feb 02:37

I'm going to take a reference picture for the pose

And you are of course doing more than throwing a photo onto the piece.

are they helping you learn colors or are the replacing the need for the knowledge? As long as they aren't harming your learning I don't see a problem.

what are your opinions on using photo textuers on base colours to make a starting pallette guys? i always have a colour scheme in mind but textuers on overlay help just to bring out some colours i hadnt thought of that work, i always paint over them anyway. is that ok or is that bad practice/

EduardoGaray

lol, i'm not an elder scrolls fan xD

11 Feb 01:32

EduardoGaray

also, for dark/demon souls, from software used capture movement tech to make combat even more awesome, while bethesda, even with a gigantic budget did 2001 animations

11 Feb 01:29

EduardoGaray

i think its more because skyrim is about playing in first person, thats good for shooters but not for an action game

11 Feb 01:03

Ursula Dorada

Dark Souls has a solid gameplay, while I do think Skyrim don't hold much water. But that is my grudge against sandboxes, everything feels watered down because you do evertyhing, nothing is really good you know

11 Feb 00:34

Gliger

doing some really fun landscape shizzle right now, finding a really awesome work flow- i wonder what people think of it? its basically i do my base colours usually wit ha some accents of a complementary colour, ,then overlay random landscapes and textuers to find cool shapes, then use the colour pallette to build from there

11 Feb 00:30
