Basically he's still alive. I'll hand it over to Scott Eaton also for figure Sculpting.

I'll work through the Loomis one, since it's a classic, but here's Hamptons site http://www.figuredrawing.info/ his book and course on constructive anatomy is leading edge in the concept field.

I'd start with loomis, purely because I know a lot of people who recommend him :P I havent read Michael Hamptons, but I have Loomis's Figure Drawings and it's a great book

Copper's a nice idea, I'd copper up his knee-bucklers too.

The white wrapped bit draws too much focus, remember contrast pulls focus.

09 Feb 07:13

Finnjamin

And shade his lower legs, that might improve things

Background colour should be neutral grey as well, FSG. Or else a warm muted brown.

I don't completely like the hair, and the ''scarf'' could use some patterns

09 Feb 07:09

Gliger

--

you could give some details to the folded part of the sleeves, lines, buttons or whatever

09 Feb 07:08

Gliger

hands look too rounded, try to show more bone

09 Feb 07:07

Gliger

maybe keep the upper part of the boots as it is, but the feet part super tight, even showing the fold of the ankles

09 Feb 07:06

Gliger

It's the hands and feet that don't work

Anyone interested in a level-up system like that of CA or did I just mention a dirty word?

Cinematics essentially and in this age of speedy production environments, its a given.

Layer effects are simply for creating "photo-graph" capturing effects. good point baout auto-save - I keep forgetting about that function, as I too shoft-ctrl s every 5 mins.

09 Feb 06:35

Gliger

--

Even autosave doesn't look like such an awesome improvement, it's in my muscle memory to save with my left hand every 4 minutes

Ps hasn't really changed in 10 years other than filters, and plugin extensions. The basics for creating good art are still there though.

09 Feb 06:33

Gliger

Yeah, I want windows, well I don't really use layer fx, and most professionals can finsh stuff without them, they are more like shortcuts

09 Feb 06:32

Nous

Ha yeah no layer effects seems mad. I guess it's good practice! Mac's hmm sorry mate can;t help you there as I am a PC guy and always will be:)
