Portraits are the most relaxing thing to me, hours fly, but I usually get tired of them after a couple of days, and then pick them up again after some weeks

I've recently discovered that it is good to take some time to do the stupid shit we did as kids, lay on the floor and copy your favourite cartoon characters etc. I usually approach that in a serious way, as design studies, so unpluging your brain and just drawing silly characters helps

Gliger, assuming from what I see on facebook yes. Most artists receive samples of their own cards, white-back cards for signing :) Ed, yes, I have been there too haha... ha.

tell me about it, have you guys ever heard of the comic book industry? if you think things are bad in illustration

Gliger

Adam Lina

haha i love a good rant. it kills me that people that have jobs that any trained monkey to preform make more than people in creative fields

Although every once in a while you get a cool tv show in which the flash or 3D doesn't look forced, like gravity falls

06 Feb 04:22

Adam Lina

--

yea but they were doing stuff of higher quality back in the 40s and 50s. it took a hell of a lot longer to do though and costed more money but it was much better results than the short cuts they use now

06 Feb 04:19

Gliger

--

I think disney using 3D goes back as far as 1982, or even 1979

06 Feb 04:15

Adam Lina

--

yea it makes you really appreciate the old disney movies like fantasia. they didnt have 3d software or flash or anything, just pen and ink

06 Feb 04:15

Gliger

--

Although of course you have a lot of anime shows with a ridiculous lack of movement and a ton of tracing over 3D

06 Feb 04:13

Gliger

--

And western animation is really getting to that point of ''moving just the mouths'' and using flash for everything

i dont even know whyd they mess with the intro like that
