yeah... it's just really easy to not do it when you're tired, stressed, afraid to ask crit because you think you didn't make enough progress, or is introverted

05 Feb 05:56

Nous

It's cheaper and shorter than art centre anyway, which is enitrel out of bounds

05 Feb 05:55

Nous

--

fair point , it rings true for any art program

05 Feb 05:55

meat

if you do FZD, make sure you seek out crit regularly and don't wait for tutors to come to you

05 Feb 05:54

meat

in general about going to a program/school

05 Feb 05:53

Nous

--

Are you talking about FZD meat?

05 Feb 05:53

meat

then you lose money AND time

05 Feb 05:53

meat

and it's easy to NOT do that every other day, for a whole semester, or even a whole year, or however long you're in that program

What's worth your money is the crit. If the tutors are absent and you have to camp their office door to hunt them down for crits, it won't be any help to you unless you actually do that, every other day

They aren't even ''We will pay you a percentage of the profit'' They are just ''Think about the exposure, of an indie game... from an indie company...that no one knows about... who just wants to make another ripoff of crush the castle''

Any unpaid stuff should be banned from advertising, seriously.

05 Feb 05:48

Nous

--

you'll be worked to the bone as a generalist

05 Feb 05:48

Gliger

--

like, that's pretty much it, I've seen 2 character design unpaid offers

05 Feb 05:48

Nous

They both advantages, fzd is one year, whereas red-engine is workshop based if I recall.

05 Feb 05:48

Gliger

--

I need to get a new computer, so I was looking for small indie gigs, they only want generalist, environment designers and 3d modelers

05 Feb 05:45

Nous

--

Yeah but red-engine is no less cheaper and further away!

05 Feb 05:45

Gliger

--

fzd seems too generalist

05 Feb 05:45

Gliger

--

Sure, scott robertson often talks about how useful is a good quality crit, but I think I'd rather go to red engine, I like the ''Focus on what you want to do in the future''

05 Feb 05:44

Nous

Which means you'll nail all foundational fundementals and get guidlines from pros who work in the industry +connections

05 Feb 05:43

Nous

Sure but its directed drawing with critique, that follows structured course outlines.

05 Feb 05:43

Nous

--

I think there's a limited pro course that can be done, but obivously it'll be expensive no matter what

05 Feb 05:42

Gliger

They just draw a lot, good teachers too, but feng said they spend about 18 hours/day drawing, idk if that's with the lectures included

05 Feb 05:42

try not to loan

Nous

Did Isra work for applibot before fzd?

05 Feb 05:42

Ursula Dorada

Yup, FZD sounds like awesome technical improvement pill. I'd take it if I could afford it

05 Feb 05:41

Nous

--

The problem is getting the loan/cash together, I've seen some excellent improvement in anyone who's done it.

05 Feb 05:41

Gliger

--

oh yeah, I saw that in his bio

05 Feb 05:39

Ursula Dorada

--

Oh, Isra--AC did. :) You may want to message him and ask! I went to the imaginism in-house worshop since I couldn't afford the long periods away from the job

05 Feb 05:39

Gliger

--

who are the pros?

05 Feb 05:37

Nous

--

Would any of you pros consider doing a course in fzd? or is that a cliche question?

05 Feb 05:37

Setah

/pvt 3445 Sorry for that, pressed some wrong buttons

haha yeah, striving to find that balance myself hehe
