Yes, do take a walk. Drink plenty of water & take some rest. It can get frustrating sometimes.

the twisted texture is something else now... I think I'll keep going with the tutorial until we start applying maps. If it's still obvious problem then, I'll try to fix thigns

Prabu, I can't find that in 3ds, 'cos I'm too n00b, but I added the flip normal modifier for now, like Ursula suggested

01 Feb 05:04

Ursula Dorada

--

But should be as easy as selecting the faulty faces and clicking flip normals

01 Feb 05:03

Ursula Dorada

Normals just break like that hh

01 Feb 05:00

Prabu

If this dont work...check the view settings.

01 Feb 05:00

Prabu

@ Meat: Select Object >> Delete History >> Select Object >> Reset Normals >> Delete History >> Save. Then Close everything & then Reopen the file.

I'm not sure if I should fix and learn, or just delete and remake

01 Feb 04:39

meat

--

But I didn't do anything.... and this twisty texture... it's a cylinder with extrude! How...why...what...

01 Feb 04:38

Ursula Dorada

Meat, your normals are just flipped. Make sure they are all facing the right direction :p its a quite common error

01 Feb 04:34

meat

--

I would like to cry.

01 Feb 04:34

meat

And others have inexplicably twisted UV, like someone wrapped it like a candy

01 Feb 04:34

meat

--

One object even flipped back when I selected it, but inverted itself again once I start rotating the Perspective camera

01 Feb 04:33

meat

--

I keep getting randomly inverted polygons for no apparent reason

if it's like that, maybe I'll try it out by linking it to the same one as my PayPal, which doesn't have much to lose
