so yeah just checked my reddit post..its been an hour someone said my prices were "a little steep" another reported the image, and the last person basically tried to take whatever inquiries i would have gotten by saying he would do it cheaper with links to art that wasnt his own but saying he could paint it like those -_-

Good point about fan art - doesn't Dan do that?

in the us if you created it, you own the rights to it. but i dont know if that includes fan art. i always wondered how artists are able to sell prints of another persons ip

Scott mcloud is good, I'd also highly recommend the Dc comics guides to comic's series and Framed Ink

That's why I'd rather stick to b&w comics, with line art, however it can be just as time consuming.

Fair dues to Dan, if you want to go down that route of painting the characters and worlds first, hmm in fact it'd perhaps be a better start ifyou wanted to make cash on it..

I've a few comic ideas, I've already sektched plots for. The problem is the refinement and quality of them - putting in the muscle takes time and hard graft.

Indeed ip's for artists are a must. I'd do anything for the practice and refinement but sequentials and comics are on the list.

Concept art is exploding now, there'll be many more studios comming up, I'd imagine. Hopefully standards and prices kept reasonable for artists.
